Tell any Republican you meet that all we Democrats want to do is stop Bush's activist nominees.

1. Damned straight. I have seen it.
Here in Michigan, we have a Supreme Court that is the essence of judicial activism. Despite our Legislature passing laws forbidding discrimination against women, minorities, etc., the justices absolutely refuse to heed those laws, and throw out every case before them alleging discrimination, thwarting the Will of the People. Are not those laws also entitled to judicial deference? I think so.

4. FYI: Candice Weaver is resigning in a few months.
Meaning Granholm will be able to appoint a third justice.

Of course, the bench will still be 4-3 Republican.

Apparently, if I heard the NPR correctly this morning, one of them has been in trouble for practicing law without a license not once but twice.

And yet Bush is proposing him for a judgeship? And in federal court no less??????
