And in a close second, Jon Corzine.
Of that list I would probably vote for Russ Feingold though or Tom Harkin.

He has integrity, which many Repucrats (Lieberman) lack. He has spoken out against the media and against Sharon's policies.

I don't trust him at all. There are a ton of better senators. I think Schumer is just a politician that does everything for political purposes.

He is low profile but he usually stands for the right issues. He was wavering on supporting the war when I called his office, but a couple of days later he came out against the resolution. I was very proud of him.

10. Jon Corzine, Debbie Stabenow and of course Joe Biden |
|
Jon because I think he's picking up where Paul Wellstone left off. Debbie cause I just think she's a great senator and I have alot of respect for the gal. And I don't care what anyone says, I adore Joe Biden, but then again I'm from Delaware. But I've always like the guy even before I moved to the state!

17. What in the world do you like about Biden? |
|
He's gone nuts the last year or so, with the wierd draconian drug laws he has proposed, and his love for Bush's foreign policy. I used to like him, but he's been a huge sell out the last year.
Also, the hair plugs are pretty bad. He should have just went bald gracefully.

33. My one problem with Corzine |
|
I really don't like how he spent so much money on his own campaign. I don't think that is right and it really bothers me. It is unfair to those that aren't super rich like he is.

|
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 07:02 PM by tjdee
I mean, he's got about the same voting record as John "Bushlite" Edwards!
He couldn't POSSIBLY be the favorite choice of some DUers!
<shocked!>
That said, I have two fantastic senators, and I'm just crazy about Corzine, who turned out to be such a wonderful wonderful choice--former chair of Goldman Sachs at that! I was a little hesitant, but he's turned out to be very progressive, can't say enough good things about him.
Of course, and Teddy Kennedy, that really goes without saying. Over in the house I like Stephanie Tubbs Jones, that whole crew of women, very very awesome.

Robert Byrd has, in his eloquent manner, exposed the Bush lies since the selection. I've written letters in support of him to WV papers (at the request of a WV friend). My hat's off to him.
Only wish Paul Simon of Illinois was still a Senator. He is a great man, and highly underrated.

He's made me proud to have worked to elect him. Everytime I'm around him he just blows me away with his sincerity and his passion. It also doesn't hurt any that he's been up front on opposing a lot of the crap that shrub and co. have tried to pull. He's a good man, and I am proud of him.
ayeshahaqqiqa, I agree with you about Sen Paul Simon. He's another one that made me proud to have carried his lit. If you stop to think about it, Illinois really has not done too badly in eleacting good Dems to the Senate--the ones we have sent have been excellent!
Now, if we can just get Barack Obama elected to fill Fitzgerald's seat!!

i picked other on the poll. but actually i do n't have 1 favorite. although at certain times depending on the issues i might look forward to seeing certain senators more than others such as right now with robert byrd . so i like byrd, kennedy, boxer, feingold, durbin, levin, harkin, leahy, and i'm sure some more. i like watching leahy on the judicial committee. boxer go after corporate whores, durbin speaking sense about almost anything on the senate floor. i can't pick one favorite, i like many for many and different reasons. and of course i like john kerry.
