How does the first hundred days of Bush*'s second term compare with
first hundred days of his first term? Maybe I am just numb but it seems to me like he hasn't accomplished a thing yet where in his first term he ran complete roughshod over the Democrats and got everything he requested plus.

1. His momentum is slowing
SS and the public's reaction has made him stop and regroup (though I don't for a moment think he's quit on destroying it-he'll just use a different sleight of hand to try it again). The Schaivo fiasco showed that his "moral mandate" wasn't as large as he claims. There are even rumors he will finally veto a bill (highways bill) because it isn't what he wants.

2. HIs only mandate is Jeff Gannon
Bush did not have any political capital coming out of the election and killed any chance for a meaningful term with the emphasis on social security

3. It's already clear he's going to spend the next 3 years under a blanket
Cheney's already activated his invisble 3000 device and has gone back to the underground bunker.

It's become pretty obvious the less exposure Bush gets from the American public the better.

4. did he accomplish anything in his first 100 days of his first tem?
As I recall up until 9/11 he was sinking pretty quickly--then with 9/11 he wrapped himself in the flag and used a national tragedy for his own warped political purposes.

6. Things don't seem to be going as smoothly for him...
...this time around. That's one thing for sure. He seems to be getting opposition everywhere he goes.

7. Wrong!
Everything from Los Alamos to your Aunt Mae's Social Security checks is being placed under corporate control and the proceeds and assets of the takeovers are about to be outsourced to the Bahamas Pakistan and other unidentified locations.

Your personal identity is about to be entered into a national registry that contains your Social Security number, your photo, your thumbprint, a sample of your DNA, your class rank at high school and college graduation, links to your college roommates' registration pages, a list of all addresses at which you have resided since your 21st birthday, your professional resume, a listing of all credit cards you own or have ever owned and all purchases you charged since 1984, a report on your sexual partners, preferences, and favorite jokes, beginning with the guy that helped you with your homework in the seventh grade, links to transcripts of your telephone calls, with asterisks by all political comments you have made in the past ten years, a compilation of the names of clubs, churches and other organizations you belong or have belonged to, links to the registration records of your closest friends and your worst enemies, identified and listed in their proper categories, a photo of the kite your mother lost for you when you were seven accompanied by a photo of you crying about the lost kite, your medical records since birth including lists of medications you have taken over the course of your life and, finally, what purports to be an objective evaluation of your sex appeal or lack thereof, which will, by law, be updated every five years.

Welcome to four more years of Bush. Don't think he isn't doing anything.

10. Well, in the broad scheme of things,
Bush is just upping efforts on an ongoing endeavor of our government another notch I suppose.

9. It is comparable to the time I got dysentery in Iraq
That is the second "first hundred days" in office.

The first hundred days was comparable to the time I broke my wrist, had surgery on it, and broke my ankle in the same year. Come to think of it, that was in 2000-2001.
