Gay Canadian couple denied entry into U.S.
Check this out. These two married men were denied by U.S. Customs in Toronto (???!!!) to fly into the U.S.

The story is below but I have just one question. Maybe people in Canada could answer this. What is U.S. Customs doing on Canadian soil? I noticed this last Summer when I was coming back to Seattle from Victoria and there were U.S. Customs at the departure gate in Victoria. How come I never saw Canadian customs in Seattle when I was heading to Canada? I don't get it.

2. I don't know about that either, John ...
The joke among my fellow Canadians is that if you add up all the land area occupied by US customs posts and military bases in other countries, it's enough for a new state!

3. Canada doesn't care what you bring into their country, we do
no, not homosexuals. Things like Cuban Cigars and other contraband and suspect foodstuffs. Canada knows that if yo got it in this country it's safe and legal to have in theirs. Not so the other way.

4. Ummmm. . . . . .
Not saying the policy is right, but the story clearly states that they were simply told they had to each fill out a customs form.

Their stance may have been admirable, but it hardly equates to them being denied entrance to the U.S..

5. a planned event
they were coming to speak to a group regarding gay marriage and knew that they could make it a cause celebre by attampting to make an issue out of this. A publicity stunt basically.
