General Clark can win this election |
|
In fact, I can see a scenario where he wins in an electoral landslide. He is the best candidate to unite the liberals with DLC Democrats. Unlike, Joe Lieberman and other DLCers he manages to take moderate positions on certain issues without attacking or belitting the base of the Democratic Party. His opposition to the war plays well in liberal precincts, but his expertise and military background give him political cover. He supports the Second Amendment right to bear arms and he projects an image of strength and tested experience. He can win the southern states like Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Virginia and Florida and give * a run for his money in Georgia and North Carolina. Out west, he can win Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. He can bring to the presidency what Bill Clinton was never able to do: give the Democrats credibility on national security. Most of all, he can fulfill *'s broken campaign promise: to restore honesty and integrity to the Oval Office.

3. From another thread tonight... |
|
I think at this point we need to be much more focused than we seem to be on replacing Bush with whoever will have the best shot at undoing the damage and putting us back on track.- Plaid Adder
That's what I'm focused on. By using primarily this criteria, I believe we will also have the best chance of crushing the BFEE.

6. According to ABC News...... |
|
.....(Australia), Clark is the 'stand out candidate'. Their correspondent did warn however that, the Democrats being 'the Democrats' means that Clark is far from certain to get the nomination.........and that the Dems have much time and many opportunities to find a way to lose the election.

11. Clark has blown it already |
|
Can't quite remember who he voted for? May have been Reagan? May have been Nixon?
Probably would have voted for the Iraq War Resolution?
These statements are
a. coming from the mouth of a mealy-mouthed pussy and b. are the exact opposite of what anybody with an ounce of humanity in them should be saying.
I'm sorry, but my prior enthusiasm for Clark has gone out like a fire being pissed on by a drunken group of frat boys.
To hell with Clark. He's one of them.

12. He can win. I like Kucinich better and he can win too. |
|
Kucinich is known for his honesty, his excellent debating skills, his fight against special interest and his ability to get half of the Republicans in his district to vote for him.
Clark will be able to grab the votes because he is a decorated general who spoke strongly against the war. AWOL Bush doesn't have a chance against either of these.
Dean, who couldn't debate his way out of a box and who changes his positions whenever he thinks it will help him, doesn't have a chance.
