Taliban capture 4 US troops: Follow up

Someone asked about this today, here is what is available:

Pakistani as well as the Taliban sources on Wednesday claimed that four US soldiers had been captured by the pro-Taliban elements in Paktia province of Afghanistan on Tuesday night in an attack on a convoy in the mountainous region.

"Our fighters have captured at least four American soldiers in Birmal area of Paktia province on Tuesday night," claimed a pro-Taliban source asking not to be named. Birmal district shares borders with two tribal agencies of Pakistan, North and South Waziristan agencies.

The claim was also backed by tribal sources, living on the Pakistan side of the Pak-Afghan border, saying that the capture of the Americans was talk of Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan Agency. However, no official confirmation of the arrest of the soldiers has been made by the US so far.

The sources said US forces with the support of their Afghan allies have established several new security check posts in Birmal. "The US soldiers were patrolling in the area when came under attack. The captured Americans have been shifted to safe places," the source claimed.

(This one has a pic but I don't know if it is just a standard icon or a pic of the actual soldiers)

5. Thanks, I thought it was just a generic icon, but asked 2B sure

You know how some sites will have little pictures for things according to topic, like a pic of bush, pic of soldier w/gun, wounded baby, etc, they have those for every story, but because there is so little available about this I wanted to err on the side of obsessive-compulsion ;)

2. Yes, yes, yes, that's all very nice, but what does it have to do with
how the various Democratic candidates are all evil sons of bitches who must be destroyed?

I mean, we have to put the important issues first, you know!

3. Need I ask why this isn't in American media?
E-mail the story to cnn or msnbc, both have decent audience and are definitely in dissenting position.

6. I've been e-mailing CNN and MSGOP with links
occasionally. I don't know of any organized efforts here to do the same. I am so utterly frustrated with the mass media for not covering what's really going on in Iraq. The media could turn this whhole country around by just reporting the facts with no spin, instead they choose to cover a category 2 hurricane 24/7, Kobe Bryant, Laci Peterson, J Ho and Ben Afflicted or who's wearing what to the Emmys. It's mind boggling.

7. How many journalists have been killed? 17?

Al Jazeera has been bombed twice, one of their best reporters has been seized and imprisoned, journalists who defy the regime do so at their peril.
