It's the latest two entries in my blog.
Have I missed anything crucial?

1. You've summarized it all right |
|
The only problem is, the press isn't digging because they are paid to NOT DIG. This administration has paid them all off and anyone else who does any 'digging' is marked as a loony or a conspiracy theorist. There are about 70K conspiracy theorists on this board, didn't you know...

3. "Downing Street Memo isn't dead." |
|
I just said basically that in the following letter to the Miami Herald.
"I just finished reading Robert Steinback's column on May 11 entitled "More Americans reacting to evidence, not emotions". Mr. Steinback makes some valid points, and I agree with a good bit of what he said. However, I must take issue with the last paragraph. Why haven't we "seen much about this memo in the American media"? Why is the media "disappointingly timid about challenging Bush"? What is the media afraid of? That the White House might be upset?
Your job is not to make the politicians happy. Your job is to report events in a way that brings them to the public's attention. The so-called Downing Street Memo has been covered in your paper three times, most recently on May 6 according to your archives. Going strictly by your coverage, one might assume that it's a dead story. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it is very much alive on the internet, in blogs and in the foreign press. The American corporate media's avoidance of news and issues is what drives many of us to obtain most of our news from these alternative media sources."

This is only the 2nd letter to the editor I've EVER written. The 1st one that I did - I posted it in a thread on DU after I sent it. Some kind person gave me some constructive criticism about that one, which I tried very hard to remember last night. I originally had a short paragraph about the content of the memo, and how Junior was blowing smoke up our skirts about going to war. Then I realized that one of the pointers I had received was to stay focused. I wasn't writing this letter to criticize the content of the memo, but rather to express my outrage at the Herald's non-coverage of it.
