Fisk on Clark
Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 07:56 AM by Skinner
Although it looks like there is a republican witch hunt on clark, and even many anti-clark posts here, I guess i'm going to feed the fire with this one.

I don't really have an opinion on Clark yet. I think he's a good addition to spice the race up.

http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=03/09/18/1757243#transcript

AMY GOODMAN: Well, John Hlinko, we have just reached Robert Fisk in Baghdad. We want to thank you for being with us, cofounder of the DraftWesleyClark.com campaign. Zoltan Grossman, thanks for being with us from the University of Wisconsin.

We're going not to the break right now, which we usually do, but because we have Robert Fisk on his satellite phone at this moment. we want to go directly to him.

Robert Fisk, we'll get your comment at the beginning, hearing that Wesley Clark is now running for president as the antiwar warrior. Then we'd like to get your observations of what's happening right now on the ground in Iraq.

ROBERT FISK: I have to say first of all about General Clark, that I was on the ground in Serbia in Kosovo when he ran the war there. He didn't seem to be very antiwar at the time. I had as one of my tasks to go out over and over again to look at the civilian casualties of that have war.

6. Fisk Has an Axe to Grind Since Kosovo
Clark executed his orders to the best of his ability, and he executed them admirably, with zero American casualties.

And Clark's backers are the Clintons, among many others. And anyone calling the CLINTONS neo-conservative is just ridiculous.

14. he ain't the only one
if anyone actually paid attention to what we did over there a LOT of folks wouldn't be pleased.

Just like what we are doing in IRAQ is wrong what we did in yogoslavia was wrong as well... only it had much better spin.

I will not support a military man for president now ESPECIALLY considering how emperialistic our foreign policy has been since the collapse of the soviet union.

Fisk has a more informed opinion than most since he has been on the front lines for decades. And over the years he has certainly earned my as well as many others respect.

Though clark may be our 'eisenhower' candidate he is certainly not my first choice.

Wonder when he will deliver his 'I WILL GO TO IRAQ' speech? his staff I am sure must be working on it.

peace

8. Having not yet read the responses, I will wager a bet
If any of the response even address the content of the article (I have noticed on threads which pose serious issues about Clark, his fans fill up the thread with silly distractions)it will be an attack on the messenger to deflect off the message.

12. Oh, you are a wise one, CWebster
But fairly soon, they will run out of messengers to attack.

Robert Fisk is a man of integrity, honor and one of the last real investigative journalist. He has risked his own life time and time again to report the truth.

Thank you for the article!
