I just spent the past 2 1/2 hours starting a thread at freerepublic and debating those who posted. It was quite interesting. I don't know of any opinions that were changed, but there really wasn't a single ad hominem attack or other trouble. It was a good debate. I outlasted them all. I even got a compliment! :)

That conversation shifted to "yeah, but conservatives don't control the Senate". Apparently we have a liberal congress, according to these people.

Most of what I get tired of is they demand absolute proof of deception. And even when you show them conflicting statements and outright denials of things that were said, they don't belive it is a lie. "Prove that Bush/Cheney meant to lie".

It gets pathetic.

Anyway, I want to commend you on your self-control and how you handled yourself in that thread. Well done.

control the Senate. During the debate I tried googling the Senate to see just what their voting record is. It's pretty obvious that the Senate, in its entirety, is quite a bit more liberal than the BFEE.
