Tom DeLay lashed out at Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy for his criticism..
Edited on Fri Sep-19-03 07:37 PM by Oracle
(What a shithead, the fucking pest Delay is...he should exterminate, himself!)

(Republican Congressman, Tom Delay) describing the comments as a "new low" and calling on (Democratic) presidential candidates to repudiate the remarks.

DeLay said Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts and other Democratic presidential hopefuls should "have the courage" to repudiate Kennedy's remarks, which he called a "new low." And he said it was "disturbing that Democrats have spewed more hateful rhetoric at President Bush then they ever did at Saddam Hussein."

"Tom DeLay is a bully," Kerry said. "He tried to bully Democrats in Texas and we're not going to accept his shrill partisan attacks or allow him to suggest that patriotism belongs to one political party."

Kerry was referring to DeLay's role in redistricting the state's congressional boundaries to benefit Republicans.

Kennedy dismissed DeLay's comments, saying that once again GOP leaders are avoiding questions about Bush's policies "by attacking the patriotism of those who question them."

Kennedy also elaborated on his comments in an interview on CNN Friday, saying the administration is announcing an $8.5 billion loan to Turkey, and that country will then provide military assistance in Iraq

1. I hope the Dems keep it up.
I hope somebody has the courage to come forward with the truth about this so that Congress has to demand an investigation.

Tommy's toast if the shit about the Bushco Talliban meetings in Sugarland Texas prior to the war in Afghanistan hits the fan! Then as soon as Bush got into office he gave the Talliban a big wad of money to help finance 9/11! Tommy's scared shitless because he knows when Bush goes down his wad is shot too!

Bush has done more damage to America than Hussein has.

8. This is good!
The Repigs will go on the defensive if the Dems keep fighting. Kennedy threw down the gauntlet on this and now the Press and talking head shows will be getting into it. The bribes as in "coalition of the bribed" were a hot topic as the war fervor got going earlier this year.

Delay asks the Dem candidates to go after Kennedy and they go after him instead. Ha, Ha!

14. Kerry did a great job of using language
to (correctly) reframe the whole debate from the mischaracterization given it by DeLay. Took a page right out of the Repuke handbook (see Franken's Rush Limbaugh book).

9. Tom Delay, henceforth referred to as 'The Prick'...
...can stuff it! He'd better get used to this; the salad days for him and his republikkkan ilk are OVER! As Patton said, 'we're not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy'!

Ask not for whom the bell tolls, Prick; it tolls for thee.

Delay should choke on a bug and go away.

Besides run his mouth?

17. Well, that return volley didn't take long, did it?
Delay must be shitting in his pants....he's all bark and no bite, and he knows it. People remember the Republicans 24/7 treatment of the last POPULARLY ELECTED President created on groundless, partisan lies......and now that people are questioning damage that this incompetent fraud has foistered on our country, you want to hide behind a flag?

Why don't you refute the statements with facts DeLay? Tell us why it's not a fraud. You can't play your "patriotism" card, either; you and your chickenhawk Roilist buddies have done worn it out.

Keep screaming Tom.....your turn will come very soon.

22. he wasn't even successful as a bug man
I read a long article about him somewhere--can't even remember where, but like his beloved commander, the chimperor, he was unsuccessful in business. I think his firm was even called the "Acme Pest Company" or some such thing. Straight out of Wiley Coyote.

They made certain that Kennedy's "exaggerations" were publicized. Wish they'd do the same over Bush's lies.

25. I'm glad I am unable to watch their spin
HOWEVER, I do believe their piling on and making a public spectacle of Ted's "exaggerations" is an excellent development. As the TRUTH of his words begins to bite Americans in their wallets, affecting those in the diners, malls and barbershops across the nation, only those who are brain dead will remain asleep.

19. Al Gore was exactly right when he said in New York, that," there
is a cold war going on in America" and it could turn into a hot war any day! The beauty of that is, that every day this thing is starting to wake up more Americans to the fact that Bush is a third rate gangster! The more people who see the light the easier our job is going to be! The bad thing is Repubs like these NEVER play fair! Never Have, Never Will!

IMHO this thing could very well turn bloody if the Idiots continue to FORCE the issues as they have been doing all along so far! STAMPEDERS are running the show and the people are getting sick of being bullied and lied to by the very people who are supposed to work for us! It's not just DUers anymore that see the light! The Repubs I have known for years around here are sick of Bush too, and I'm hearing the grumble turn into a rumble around here! So Be Ready To Rumble if the next election is flawed in any way!

The Grasso deal is another timebomb IMO!

24. Ted Kennedy KNOWS Something. He Wouldn't Have Said This Otherwise.
A dear friend of mine told me this morning on the phone that Ted would have NEVER mentioned the bribing with the missing billions if he didn't know about it. I have to agree.

27. Two thoughts.
First, Kudos to Kerry for having the guts to call the bug man out.

Second, can you here the worm turning? Republicans have using the questioning of our patriotism to shut down debate that Kennedy is now using their questioning of our patriotism to shut down debate. I hope you understand what I am saying.
