My Response To A Republican Post |
|
Here is the guys post:
Now most of the liberals are posting that this article describes the extreme left wing, and not mainstream. If this is so, we are sorry. The right gets confused sometimes when your elected officials do not represent your mainstream, and your party chairman is Howard Dean. We didn’t get the memo that Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry were not representatives, but instead were extreme. When the predominate black leader is Jesse Jackson, when you popularize a movie such as Fahrenheit 911, when moveon.org gains enormous popularity, when basically there is not coherent message or base at all in the democratic party, we are sorry. Excuse me for piecing together what I believe to be democratic ideals from the laundry list different beliefs that are considered leftist. Sorry for making assumptions that what I hear and experience daily from the left isn’t mainstream, but extreme. Let me apologize again for believing your chosen leader of your party, Howard Dean, represents your core. I AM SORRY.
My Response:
Care to fill us in on how Dean, Kerry, Hillary represent the things listed in the article???? As far as not having a coherent message or vision??? well perhaps you should stop listening to Rush and Hannity and open your ears for a change because you might learn something. We believe in attacking the root of all problems not hacking at their branches like Republicans. Buy the way have you seen how well the Republican vision is working out? Bush's approval rating in the new Pew Poll is down to 43%.
Hillary Clinton is already talking about securing our borders to control illegal immigration which Bush is against because he and the huge corporations LOVE the slave labor they provide.
Good pay and benefits for those at the bottom so they can afford to take care of their children and stop having abortions which are way up under Bush.
Targeted tax cuts where the economy is weak and needs patching not huge tax cuts for the wealthy that never trickle down and often don't plug the holes where the economy is weakest.
Treating the drug problem as a medical problem and not a crime problem so people can get the kind of help that will get them back on their feet and back into society rather than put them in jail only to get out months later poor and still addicted to drugs needing to rob the local convenience store to get their fix.
Counseling for kids and families who are dysfunctional so they can learn better parenting skills and how to communicate on an interpersonal level and better conflict resolution skills so the vicious circle is broken not just put on the back burner.
Better access to health care to prevent illness and reduce medical costs across the board.
Diplomacy over blowing up countries and creating more terrorism and hate for America.
Good paying jobs with good benefits to lower the crime rate rather than building more prisons.
Modest Government regulations to control things like Mercury being put in our water and creating birth defects in children since Bush took office.
You rip on Dean as being fringe left when he is widely known as a Moderate who was against the War. Just because he was against the war that makes him Fringe left???? How else is he fringe left? Why is it that in the new Pew Poll support for the Iraq War is now under 40%? Holy crap it seems Dean was right and you were wrong. Educate yourself rather than ONLY listening to EXTREME right wing radio.

I can't think of a thing to add...however they will soon hear from the "real" mainstream! Unfortunately, they still count the votes and that has to be our top priority for 2006.
