The question about Clark shouldn't be - What has he done for the.....
Democratic Party?

The question should be- Will Clark be good for America?

We all want Bush out. But we also must come to grips with the fact that we cannot have everything we want socially, economically.

Does Clark in his speeches make sense? Sound lucid? Does he speak to ALL of our concerns?

It's early folks. Let's make a rational decision based on facts, not rumor and inuendo.

I'm a leftist. If it were my way we would be a socialist-democracy. But that ain't gonna happen. We must try to recapture as much of FDR's New Deal and Johnson's Great Society that we can.

We MUST be pragmatic. Let's not sling mud at the Democratic candidates, they all have OUR best interests at heart. They all want to unseat Bush and that is what we ALL want.

3. Alas, the last time I checked, only Democrats voted in the Dem. primary
And the General's coy standoffishness about even muttering the phrase "..I am a Democrat..." has rubbed many of the party activists the wrong way.

We want someone who thumps his chest and shouts it to the world!

Not someone who holds his nose and mutters it out of the side of his mouth.

I like the General and all, but his dismissive attitude toward the traditional democratic party apparatus will prove to be a severe handicap in the Democratic primary.

9. but seriously
What do you mean by Clark being dismissive of the party apparatus? Do you mean that he didn't declare till the middle of September? If so, remember that Clinton didn't declare until October.

Is that what you meant?

I'm going to vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever it is. I'd like Dean and Clark together, but I can't figure out who would head the ticket.

Dems unite!

5. No - the question should be
who is the best candidate for America that has a reasonable chance of being elected? I suggest that this election is Bush's to lose.

6. Republicans always talk about their party
never about America. Pay attention and you'll see that in their dialog.

7. Amazing how all you self-professed "Leftists"
Edited on Fri Sep-19-03 09:28 PM by CWebster
are straining at the bit to hand our party over to a -- basically the most militaristic Republican of the candidates, because this would be best for the country? There are other Democratic candidates who have proved their Democratic worthiness and broad appeal. I intend to support a Democrat and I believe it is a pragmatic decision and infinitely more preferrable to all who have witnessed the Republicans trash our country and our standing in it.

8. Will you be voting for Dennis Kucinich or Al Sharpton?
Because those 2 are far and away the most "liberal" on every issue. I love Kucinich's stand on NAFTA and Iraq. Will he win?
