TO THE STREETS ONCE AGAIN: FOR A VOTER-VERIFIED PAPER TRAIL!
Remember the anti-War protests? Millions in the streets. Let's do it again. Except this time protest the past and future stolen elections.

In this fight we shall not fail
To see our voter paper trail..

Global Eye -- Vanishing Act
By Chris Floyd

It's a shell game, with money, companies and corporate brands switching in a blur of buyouts and bogus fronts. It's a sinkhole, where mobbed-up operators, paid-off public servants, crazed Christian fascists, CIA shadow-jobbers, war-pimping arms dealers -- and presidential family members -- lie down together in the slime. It's a hacker's dream, with pork-funded, half-finished, secretly programmed computer systems installed without basic security standards by politically partisan private firms, and protected by law from public scrutiny. It's how the United States, the "world's greatest democracy," casts its votes. And it's why George W. Bush will almost certainly be the next president of the United States -- no matter what the people of the United States might want.

1. Man hits golf ball on moon.
And our current legal and political considerations are over how many of our votes can acceptably be trashed???

And we should keep a close eye on the calif appellate court. If they suspend the delay on the Calif recall (completely based on the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court case), then we need to hit the streets that very minute. Surely the plaintiffs will appeal to the Supreme Court, who *have* to decline hearing the case since they put an illegal loophole in Bush v. Gore saying it had no precedent value. That's outrageous. Completely outrageous.

Those two occurrences will be my call to take to the streets.

It's pretty sweet - the Calif recall and the 2000 election and fair elections -- all twisted up together. I could never ask for a better payback to bush. Never.

4. That's a pretty good summary article
and lots of relevent links. Missing the watershed NY Times article, though. How long ago was that - I can't remember.

5. One of the best summaries on this issue I've seen
Chris Floyd is quite possibly my favorite writer to start with -- and his clarify of sight is unerring.

For those who want a good summary of the problems (tho this is heavy on conflicts of interest), use this. Also worth reading is his last week's column:

Global Eye -- Last Rights
http://www.moscowtimes.ru/stories/2003/09/12/120.html
which explains (again) that we had a coup in 2000, and ends thusly:

So yes, there will be an "election" -- with conventions, debates, ads, voting, the whole schmeer. But as Josef Stalin once said: "It's not the votes that count, it's who counts the votes." And in 2004, most votes will be "counted" by paperless, unverifiable, eminently hackable computer systems, privately owned and secretly programmed by Bush supporters from the Religious Right and the military-intelligence complex.

Again, this is no "conspiracy theory"; it's all out in the open -- for anyone who cares to look. Next week, we'll do just that. Stay tuned.

7. Now is the time to hit the pavement because,
if we wait until after the election we may NEVER have another REAL one until Jeb is out in 9.5 years from now!

8. Is anyone actually working on it?
There is a lot of groups that could be part of such a demonstration.
