Christian group retreats from Disney boycott
TUPELO, Miss. - A conservative Christian group has ended its boycott of the Walt Disney Co., launched nine years ago in response to what leaders perceived as the erosion of the company's squeaky-clean image.

"There are so many other issues we need to move on to and deal with that are taking our time and energy," American Family Association president Tim Wildmon wrote in a letter published Monday on the group's Web site.

"If you're going to call for a boycott of a company — if something has become that serious — you need to have all your resources behind it."...

Wildmon said the announcement is not an endorsement of Disney, just an end to the boycott "as a ministry agenda item."

9. well, that seems to be a protest against the indifferent bourgeoise
who ignore how the other half lives and are more concerned with self-gratification than the broader politics of the world. It doesn't seem to be endorsing nazism.

If it's even there ... frankly, I don't see how the soldier is identifiable as a nazi.

10. You're missing the funny part.
See, a Nazi stormtrooper in a mural at a place that routinely censors even a hint of cleavage.. Hahaha! It's a knee-slapping good time.

3. Now that's a boycott that really worked....
Not!
I wonder what their profit increase has been in the past nine years?
I know that I went just because they were boycotting the place, as did many other gay families.

5. AFA's Also Got An Image Problem
The so-called "American Family Association" also has an image problem. More and more people see them as being supporters of corporate corruption and corrupt politicians, supporters of death and destruction in Iraq, collaborators in Buckaroo Bush's efforts to destroy Social Security, a hindrance to public health in their opposition to birth control and to reproductive health, cheerleaders for the worst elements of the Republican Party, as well as being practicing hypocrites when it comes to obeying the teachings of the man from Nazareth.

Compared to the AFA, Cruella DeVille, Captain Hook, Jaffar and other Disney villains are looking as squeaky-clean as Mary Pickford.
