1. good
That un-compromise needs to be slammed.

Once again, it means that the Dems get to keep the filibuster..

.. as long as they don't use it.

The system of checks and balances is dead.

4. He Framed The Issue Perfectly
How soon we forget how bottled up McCain-Feingold was and how it was forced with the 60 votes in the wake of the Enron collapse. McConnell led a one-man filibuster on that deal until the heat got too much for him.

I used to be envious of the Senator of Wisconsin until we got two good ones here in Illinois.

If the Repugnicans want rubber stamp, they're gonna have to get 6 more Senate seats...and they know that's not likely to happen.

But let them over-reach and now let them feel they got screwed on the deal. Democrats don't have many options and we got more in this deal than we gave up. The right wing is now going against the moderate Repugnicans who favored this deal and this could flush out the middle in our direction.

Hopefully Brown will be voted down...as Will Pitt observed, better only 2 or 3 than the whole 10...and more who would have been voted in had the Fristians ramodded the nominations through.

Now the Fristians and the Moderates are lined up on different sides of Gomez Addams' train tracks and the juice has just been turned on...

5. I'm glad he's my Senator.
The only one to vote against the PATRIOT ACT, folks.
