Washington Journal caller "SICK " of politics..not gonna vote
Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 06:14 AM by SoCalDem

BUT.. He's watching c-span and sitting there on hold (long distance)..

When he finally gets his say, he spouts that crap and also how SICK he is of people attacking Bush.. Says he "used" to be a democrat..(uh..sure!)

These freaks all have amnesia.. Were they all locked in a closet from 1992 to 2001???

Did they not have access to tv, radio, newspapers, magazines.. ??? Their "leaders" verbally assassinated Clinton for 9 years, and they are "upset" now because we do not all just :loveya: their little Bushieboy:)

1. He's an idiot.
I just turned it on when he was sputtering his stupidity, so I didn't get to hear his position - I still thought he was an idiot, no matter what it was.

A democracy requires its' citizens to participate in gov't, otherwise it's not a democracy. The 'pukes want more people to have this guys attitude: arrogant, prideful ignorance. The sheep are more malleable that way.

4. Beg to differ there dpt
Let me preface this by saying I didn't see this particular piece, nor do I endorse the notion of not critisizing the shrub.

That said, there are a lot of people out there who aren't voting because they realize that on the national level, modern politics is nothing but a shell game anyway. We have been reduced to voting for the lesser of two evils, both of whom are controlled by the same corporate masters. Yes, there are some differences in the candidates, but most are minor, and the whole matter really comes down to whether we the people want to get screwed with or without lube.

C'mon, we had a Democratic president in Clinton who pulled such wonderful moves such as the Telecom Act, NAFTA, FTAA, welfare "reform", and so many others that thirty years ago Clinton could have run on the 'Pug ticket.

What we really need in this country is a candidate who will truly make a difference. The only one I see in the current crop of Dems is Dennis Kucinich, and I doubt that he will get the nod. Thus once again next fall we will be stuck with the same ol' same ol' and once again set a new record for voter apathy.

Now what is interesting, and quite telling, is the run of the Green Party. These folks are going out and bringing voters back into the process. In the '00 election, one half of their supporters hadn't voted in a couple of election cycles. What brought these people out? A candidate and platform that people could see made a difference. That's why I think that if the Dems don't start implementing real changes soon then they're going to dry up and blow away. People will go to where they see the real action, and that certainly isn't with the same corporate controlled Dem/'Pug dichotomy.

5. He can join the club

60% of eligible voters decided not to show up in the last Presidential election. That worked out really well. Bush-lite is bankrupting the country while simultaneously generating tens-of-thousands of Muslims who want to kill Americans on their way to doing their 72 virgins in Paradise.

Buy, hey, don't vote, don't get involved, don't see the hand-writing on the wall. Katherine Harris will thank you.

6. I hear these people every day on Washington Journal
they start out with "I used to be a life-long Democrat, but...." Then they spout rightwing talking points straight off of hate radio. People who hold these beliefs were NEVER lifelong Democrats. This is a ploy. We all know it. They need to stop with this. It's over. They've been outed. This is a tactic to attempt to get the middle to see how they can shift to the right and it's OK. All these people have done so. We could do the same. But, then, there's that honesty thing holding us back.
