Poll question: Grade Harry Reid's Performance
What grade to you give him as our leader in the Senate?

Rate his performance in leadership, effectiveness, etc. during his reign of Dem Senate leader.

Feel free to explain your grade.

1. He preserved the Constitution
by bending over to the rethugs.

Also did squat on January 19. Barbara Boxer and Harriet Tubbs-Jones showed they had more balls than Harry.

2. Decided on a B+ for Harry Reid.
He is not a liberal Zorro, the swashbuckling champion just yet, but he's shown some fire and gutsiness.

I'm stickin' with him.

3. C +
And that is in comparison to Tom Daschle.

6. On Daschle: I want him as a neighbor but not as Senate Dem leader.
Would prefer Harry, given the current political climate.

But compared to that human dildo, John Thune, I'd still take Daschle if I lived in SD.

11. Reid (so far) has been much better than Daschle,
Edited on Thu May-26-05 09:57 PM by GreenArrow
not nearly perfect, but much tougher. Daschle would have gotten an F for his work.

Daschle might make a good neighbor; I don't like him much as a politician, but I do believe he's fundamentally a decent person, who will probably feel a whole lot better about himself now that he's out of politics. Much preferable to Thune, both as a person and a pol.

Family, Junior would be pulling welfare, unemployment, food stamps... I have a sixth sense. I can see this. I can feel it in my bones!

5. I feel it's premature for me to wage a grade. However,...
,...he has been both sturdy and bold in face of a ruthless opposition. I appreciate that!!!!

and I'm glad to have him on our side

I think he'll be a darkhorse in 2008.

10. I give him a B-Plus
He could do some things better on votes and whatnot but over all he's doing a pretty good job. Still needs some work but isn't this his first time as a leader for the party?

12. A for the rest of the otherwise smart effort, F on The Compromise.
Average is about a C+ then, I would wager. But even that looks to high. God, I'm angry at him.

13. Reid has done better than I thought he would
...and he's better than Daschle. But he lapses into comporomise/appeasement ville too much. I'll give him a B- for now and hope he gets better.

Don't ask me to grade Pelosi though :puke:

14. Good poker player
Reid is clever. I don't like some of the choices he's made, but he obviously cares,is smart and a razor sharp politician. He's unified the Senate Democrats like never before and he's made the Repugs look really stupid and petty. I'm liking this guy and glad he's on our side.
