The military votes in Florida permitted Bush to steal election....
We all remember the controversy surrounding the military absentee votes that had not arrived in time to be counted. Without those votes, Al Gore was ahead. But, the right-wing machine got into gear and convinced everyone, including Joe Lieberman, that it was only right to count the votes of the military, even if they were past the deadline for voting. It was reported that some ballots were delivered to troops after the election and they voted and were returned. The story was that some of them were so far out there in the ocean and so forth, that they did not have time to deliver them to the polls in time?

So now, we must ask, how does the military feel about the man they put into office with their absentee ballots? Do they still feel that he is the man to protect our nation? Is he the man to keep our nation strong? Does he give a damn about the enlisted man? There will be second thoughts, I am sure.

1. Can't reallyblame the military...
...those really weren't military voted--those were votes filled in by Republican Party operatives who said they were military votes. They were forgeries.

2. Selective counting of military votes in Florida
Military (absentee) ballots in Republican areas were counted whether they were legal or not.
Military votes in Democratic dominated areas were thrown out at the insistance of Republican campaign operitives if they were not letter of the law perfect.
The Replutocans are hypocrites on this (like many other things): they only wanted to count military votes that they were sure were for them. If all the absentee votes had been counted; or only all the legal ones, Gore would have won. But the Replutocans were allowed to pick and choose, and you know what they picked. Just one more thing (of a long list) that happened in Florida that allowed Bushco to steal the election.

3. Absolutely agree Hawker...
That is exactly how it transpired at the time...exactly. Along with all the other BS the people under DeLay and Baker were doing.
