Bush forgets 9-11 - no ceremony to honor fallen firefighters?
Sept.19 is the day the IAFF memorializes Fallen Firefighters. Did anyone catch a White House ceremony on the news? I didn't. More trouble in Bushland. They can't squeeze anything more out of 9-11. I predict their convention in NYC will be disastrous.

Statement from John Kerry on the 17th Annual IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Ceremony

September  19,  2003

“This is a day to honor heroes—to honor those Americans who faced danger every day with a courage that remind us all of what’s best about America.  These fallen heroes paid the ultimate sacrifice to save lives and serve their country, and for that we owe them a great debt.

“In 1999, tragedy struck my state when a warehouse in Worcester went up in flames.  Six brave firefighters went in.  None came out alive.  Massachusetts and the nation mourned as one.  Firefighters came from Australia and Ireland and all over America to mourn their fallen brothers.  I promised the families that their loved ones' sacrifices would not be forgotten.

“And long after the bagpipes ended their wailing and the flags returned to full staff, I have fought to keep that promise, and I will not stop my fight to honor the Worcester Six, and all the courageous firefighter's we've lost until, the job is done.

“Today, I offer my sympathies to the loved ones left behind, and join them as we hold our heads up in pride to honor their heroes—America’s heroes—for their sacrifice and their service.”

2. Many firefighters and police officers who worked so hard and
risked their own lives are very ill now from breathing monstrous amounts of asbestos, glass, concrete particles and God knows what else. The scrubbing of the EPA reports telling NYC that all was well has shown the BFEE to be what most of us have known all along, all about big business and doesn't give a rat's ass about the citizens of this country.

Me thinks these guys would have booed their phony-baloney sympathetic asses off the damned stage.

3. Cheerleader-in-Chimp

George W Bush is not merely amoral. He is sociopathic. How else could he USE the deaths of hundreds of men and women who gave their lives in the attempt to rescue people trapped in two burning skyscrapers?

It is unimaginable for him to sacrifice some of his GOLF time to do his job, let alone VACATION time. What a worthless schmuck.

4. Amen
"I predict their convention in NYC will be disastrous."

I couldn't agree more. I think, like the now infamous jet fighter landing, this one is going to turn out to be a gross Rovian miscalculation. At the time NYC was chosen, Bush was riding high in the polls and this was supposed to be the "nail in the coffin" that would let them carry New York and win in a landslide. Now with his poll numbers dropping and people becoming increasingly fatigued with him, I think that this blatant attempt to exploit 9/11 and the WTC rebuilding is going to backfire, big time.

7. and all the state laws that need changed to placate
the gross hubris of this opportunistic group of sociopaths. Horrendous that state laws have to be changed in several states to allow his name on the ballot so he can milk a S-11 ceremony. Sept 1st is deadline for many states, some earlier, if I recall correctly. This is an added cost to state government, solely for the benfit of the Repuke party. Outrageous.

5. Imagine this: Imagine if the NYC Fire/Police are SO pissed at shrub
that they let 3000 of us dress in black and go lie down in the "pit" at ground zero? i can't think of a better, more peaceful way to protest the fraud.
