A good excuse to donate to Amnesty International
Since Bush and Cheney and the right-wing are now making the effort to assault Amnesty International, an organization whose sole purpose of existence is to ensure that people are treated well, we now have a great excuse to donate money to their cause.

AI has always been a great cause, get on over to their site and give what you can. Regardless of partisan politics, it is the right thing to do.

3. exactly. and I don't remember * thinking Amnesty Intl was absurd when
they discussed the Taliban or Saddam. I guess reporting on human rights abuses is only absurd when you're the one committing the crimes.

Yep, it's definately time to make another donation.

7. Or the Soviet Union for that matter. Or China.
These folks are TRULY impartial. They'll denounce human rights violations anywhere, regardless of source.

4. We have been for years. A great organization.
We also write letters to various governments of whatever political stripe for AI. A lot of them go to our own "democratic" government.

I urge everyone who values humanity to donate.

You get a nifty bumpersticker if you do. Pisses the fascists off.

5. very good point, esp after today's press conf. News item could read: AI
contributions spiked right after bush's press conference, in which he smeared their report on his atrocities.
