Is Bush against contraception? His press secretary evades an answer
This reminds me of his convention speech where Bush's only mention of abortion is his desire for a "culture of life" (except in Iraq, the people he executed and so forth).

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050526-1.html

Q There are news reports this morning that parents and children who were guests of the President, when they visited Congress, wore stickers with the wording, "I was an embryo." And my question is, since all of us were once embryos, and all of us were once part sperm and egg, is the President also opposed to contraception, which stops this union and kills both sperm and egg?

MR. McCLELLAN: I think the President has made his views known on these issues, and his views known --

Q You know, but what I asked, is he opposed -- he's not opposed to contraception, is he?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, and you've made your views known, as well. The President --

Q No, no, but is he opposed to contraception, Scott? Could you just tell us yes or no?

MR. McCLELLAN: Les, I think that this question is --

Q Well, is he? Does he oppose contraception?

MR. McCLELLAN: Les, I think the President's views are very clear when it comes to building a culture of life --

Q If they were clear, I wouldn't have asked.

MR. McCLELLAN: -- and if you want to ask those questions, that's fine. I'm just not going to dignify them with a response.

FUCK YOU BUDDY! You work FOR THE PEOPLE, you are PAID BY THE PEOPLE.

So you and your bossy-poo better fucking start answering some simple fucking yes or no fucking questions, asshole.

GOD. So did he ever answer? Let me guess, he just went to the next person.

Motherfuckers, every last person in the bush administration.

2. Hahahahaha!
Got Scotty in a corner.

Of course he's not opposed to contraception! Laura was probably on the pill, or something -- they're not even particularly religious, I don't believe, but they like to pretend.

But if he admits that, the Fristians will freak out.

Hahaha. I love it.

Self protection. Immagine what the little sweethears (the twins) might come home with if there are no rubbers in their world.

9. I have a feeling that if...
... McClellan's pants were to spontaneously combust in mid-answer (now, there's something I'd pay to see! :P ), there would be at least some grumbling in the press corps that they weren't told it would happen--otherwise, they would have brought marshmallows.

6. Oppose contraception?
It depends. Bush is still waiting for his minister to tell him.

I wish these people would go back to the woods in the South and leave us alone. They're non-stop inbreeding is going to bring this nation down. Against contraception? You're against God!

Of course, corporations won't be happy if he bans contraception from Plan B to condoms as evangelicals want. Best allies we have are greedy corporations that won't anything get in the way of profits.

10. Asked about what to do with the frozen embryos
dubya said they should be adopted. Read this earlier today and can't find it now, but it was in the press conference. With a statement like that, I wonder if he even knows what contraception is........just say no.

11. The fundies deserve to know the answer
The fundies deserve an answer to that question, and they deserve for him to say it publicly---just so that all of us heathens know that he is not ashamed of them or his feelings on this subject. I'm concerned for those who are suffering from religious persecution that their pres, to whom they gave bank-vaults full of money, is not being honnest with them.

14. McClellan's mail addy
Does anyone have it? I just want to write the guy and tell him what a friggin muppet he is.

How hard is it to answer a question with "yes" or "no"?

Having said that, I don't think that the words "yes" and "no" exists in any politicians vocabulary....

15. Why were these questions not asked last fall?

Bush wants to ride the fence on this. He knows there is a segment that votes for him because of tax cuts and terror and another that is kind of a Christian Tailabon. So he doesn't want to be too specific.

Glad to see the press finally hounding them like they should.
