Talking Point against Jeb Bush in 2008: The Blue Tarp facts |
|
1- Hurricanes rip up thousands (or millions) of Florida homes. Typically the roof was damaged, resulting in..duh..leaks.
2- Yes, there were labor shortages and material shortages for a while.
3- Housing is a basic need of Floridians.
4- As of May 31st, 2005, SOME Floridians still have blue tarps covering their roofs. This is atrocious.
5- If Jeb Bush had busted his ass to get all Florida homes repaired by now, yes, it's conceivable that not 100% of damaged homes would be fixed by now. But..it'd be a lot lower number.
Use this against Jeb in '08.

The average American doesnt expect their governer to fix their house after a natural disaster.
Its not a good political talking point.
