he became ugly. prior to that he had one other incident. with the 9/11 widows, he was captivated by them. really supported them on his show. and after a break of a couple days, came back on and never said another word. after the zell to do he had another unannounced break.

15. St. Tweety The Pompous

My wife mentioned this recently. She thinks this guy has gone off three wheel most days due to things that's happened to him.

Some may remember he had a serious illness several years ago...some kinda strange virus he picked up in Asia that had him off the air for months and he admitted "changed his life". Ever since he's been more nutty and flaky than ever.

This is really on display when there are issues regarding what appears to be his strong Catholic faith/upbringing. It's like he's borderline Opus Dei in the way he looks at things now and is showing the patrician and condescending traits that you also see in Novakula.

Tweety's definitely in it for the headlines and the ratings. This isn't a "news" program, it's an "opinion" show. It's biased from the outset by the topics is choses to cover or ignore and who is invited on the show to "debate" the topic. Tweety will stack a panel like this or have a Repugnican on without any Democrat. The man obviously has no real soul or he'd have come out with what he knew about the Plame situation and be taking this regime to task every night. Instead, his vanity and quirks result in a TV circus that has lost any real informative value...it's purely political comedy.

17. Tweety is tap dancing just as fast as he can. He is getting his

ass handed to him in the ratings game every night by Keith. Tweety is truly pissed because he perceives himself as a "real" newsman while Keefer Darling is just an upshot, failed sportsman crossover who is stealing the ratings every night. He just can't understand how a funny, smart guy who reports the real news is losing to a bad haired, repug shill that stays on message for the GOP.

Matthews was so over about 15 years ago. I sent an email to MSNBC last night during the show begging them to get the producer, script person, hell, the makeup guy to whisper in Tweety's ear during a commercial break - "Shut the Fuck up." I normally keep my emails to the networks very polite and professional but last night Tweety just sank so far below any recognized standard of journalism it called for language I was sure a repug would understand.

Women are often treated horribly by Mr. Matthews. Ask Ms. vanden Heuvel, Ms. Pelosi, or Ms. Goodman. Maybe it's a neocon thing, maybe it's a sexist thing, maybe both.

However, earlier in the show, G. Gordon Liddy, who will ultimately go down in history as a failure as a two-bit crook, got the smackdown by Matthews on a point Matthews actually did some research on (Yes, he did research. Imagine that!). Don't know if msnbc.com posted the transcript yet, but it's fun to watch them eat their own.
