3. Draft? They should volunteer! |
|
US history teaches us that those who believed the war we were fighting was just volunteered for duty. People who stayed at home but said they supported the war had their patriotism questioned. This was especially true during the Civil War, when Lincoln was roundly criticized for not letting his eldest son, Robert, enlist (even though Robert wanted to, Lincoln insisted he finish college-plus he was afraid for the mental stability of his wife if she lost yet another son).
So I say that we question the patriotism of everyone who "supports the war" and yet doesn't march in to a recruiting office.

march in to a recruiting office. That is really, really good. Any ideas on exactly how to "frame" it. I know it would have to fit each individual situation, but the general idea is great.
Most of the people that support the war are too old to enlist, but there has to be away around this and get our zinger in about supporting the war and not joining the armed forces as traitorous.

9. Just use the voter registry like jury duty. |

Makes it easier to find them. Other than the chickenhawk squaking that they do and the blank look on their zombie lemming faces.
