Bush, the word is "dissemble" not "disassemble" you freaking idiot
The irony is hilarious. If you look up the word Bush MEANT to say, it could be describing HIM perfectly.

Dissemble:
1 : to hide under a false appearance
2 : to put on the appearance of : SIMULATE
intransitive senses
: to put on a false appearance : conceal facts, intentions, or feelings under some pretense

Dissembler:
a person who professes beliefs and opinion that he does not hold
hypocrite, phoney, phony, pretender
beguiler, cheater, deceiver, trickster, slicker, cheat - someone who leads you to believe something that is not true
charmer, smoothie, smoothy, sweet talker - someone with an assured and ingratiating manner
Tartufe, Tartuffe - a hypocrite who pretends to religious piety (after the protagonist in a play by Moliere)
whited sepulcher, whited sepulchre - a person who is inwardly evil but outwardly professes to be virtuous .

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dissembler (via DU'er Donailin)

THE PRESIDENT: Terry.

Q Thank you, sir. Mr. President, recently, Amnesty International said you have established "a new gulag" of prisons around the world, beyond the reach of the law and decency. I'd like your reaction to that, and also your assessment of how it came to this, that that is a view not just held by extremists and anti-Americans, but by groups that have allied themselves with the United States government in the past -- and what the strategic impact is that in many places of the world, the United States these days, under your leadership, is no longer seen as the good guy.

THE PRESIDENT: I'm aware of the Amnesty International report, and it's absurd. It's an absurd allegation. The United States is a country that is -- promotes freedom around the world. When there's accusations made about certain actions by our people, they're fully investigated in a transparent way. It's just an absurd allegation.

In terms of the detainees, we've had thousands of people detained. We've investigated every single complaint against the detainees. It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of -- and the allegations -- by people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble -- that means not tell the truth. And so it was an absurd report. It just is. And, you know -- yes, sir.

7. I've been thinking of writing a letter to Yale, requesting they revoke
Bush's MBA. It started when the idiot didn't know that the SS bonds are instruments of debt and his failure to grasp the growing deficit has any relationship to his spending!

25. You'll have to ask Bush Senior about the cost of Jr's education...
I'm sure Daddy's money and some dirt in the Dean's FBI File bought Bush's Yale Degree - Same goes for Harvard Business School who gave him a MBA (tell me their founders aren't spinning in their graves right now).

26. You Have To Keep In Mind. . .
. . .that even Yale and Harvard admitted that the period of greatest legacy grade inflation occurred in the 60's. After that, many professors thought it was unfair to inflate the grades of legacies, so they inflated EVERYBODY's grades. The period from about 1963 to about 1975 is one of questionable academic integrity. And, there have been analyses done to indicate that the fewer scholarships one had (hence they had family money), the worse it was.

And, Silverspoon graduated from there, when? Oh yeah, i remember.

2. Their tactic WORKED, dammit!
Now all of us liberal grammarians are on his ass about the stupid "disassemble" thing... and the other stuff he said is completely IGNORED.

Another DUer posted that on Monday, dictionary.com's word of the day was "dissemble." You KNOW that Bush doesn't surf the internets, but Rove does, especially if he's looking for a word he can plant and get Bush to screw up. Yes, I believe it was PLANNED.

Does anyone honestly think that thing was off the cuff? Would he define a "big word" for us, just because? It is SO not his style.

We took the bait, people.

3. Another word added to the "New American Dictionary"
The new word, "disassemble", will now be used by millions of Americans, along with "nucular" and "electorial". And there are three more years to add to the "new" vocabulary.

8. "We've investigated every single complaint against the detainees."???
Excuse me? Then why haven't they been tried and why hasn't ALL the evidence resulting from such investigations been presented?

He's a fucking liar and sociopath. He's so incapable of even recognizing the truth he should be committed to an asylum.

31. Excellent point
And WHO are the ones that "complained" and lead to the arrest of many innocent people? It is those people we've released (for lack of evidence) who are now talking about and SUING our government for their mistreatment in our GULAGS.

18. The handler talking into the earpiece said "dissemble."
However, the chimp had never heard the word and his feeble mind latched on to the closest word he knew - disassemble. By then the handler was defining "dissemble" for him and he compounded the error by repeating the definition - which was for his ears only - out loud.

The scariest, most awful part about all this is that millions of Americans voted for a moron who doesn't have a junior high level vocabulary and can't answer a simple scripted question without relying on an earpiece - and even then he screws up.

21. Mark Crispin Miller explained in the Bush Dyslexicon -
Bush mangles words when he's faking something, saying something he doesn't believe in.

When he's talking about something he believes in, such as killing people, violence, war, he never has a problem with language.
