I saw Reid talking about this timeline on Cspan.
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 09:56 AM by King Coal
12/07/1941----Pearl Harbor attacked.
04/30/1945----Hitler commits suicide. Germany surrenders.
08/06/1945----Little Boy bursts on the scene in Hiroshima.

09/11/2001----WTC buildings brought down by planes.
06/01/2005----We can't say much has been done. No Osama. Saddam is shown in his poopers. We don't have anything to compare with the initial fighting in Africa, Manhattan Project, D-Day, Allied Support, the Marshall Plan. What else? Anyone, anyone? Bueller?

Edited to correct date.

4. Pearl Harbor did not take as much time as 9/11
Freepers always downing FDR and trying to impugn his integrity. It has taken longer to fight OBL than it did Pearl Harbor. This War on Terror is carte blanch to invade any country the U. S. deems fit. I don't think it is doing so well as evidenced in Iraq...

7. Going back once again...
to Ron Suskind's article in NYT last October...

Fundies like BushCo always need an enemy, and since that stated enemy is evil (and ridding the world of evil) and that is a war that will never end because it is impossible to completely rid the world of evil, this is why we continue to see that Syria and Iran are still in their sights.

8. The enemy should be
poverty. Poverty supports religion, which can also support terrorism. When you are poor, the only hope you have is that (fill in your Deity here) will some how intervene and make your life a little easier. Ease poverty and you'll find that much of the fundamentalism will go away, which will, in turn, ease terrorism.
