2. I second that applause. |

I applaud anyone who has the courage to do what's right for the country by opposing criminality among the most politically powerful. May others follow your example!

3. Thank you for your patriotic service to your nation, Mr. Felt. |
|
You are a true hero. Corruption must be exposed to the light of day, "party loyalty" be damned regardless of the party.

8. Thank you for giving us something now - to believe in. Thank you |
|
for reminding us that some people put their country before political powers. So far I have not seen anything that tells me that Felt had any other choice. If the CIA & the president were pushing them to bury the investigation - who the hell was he supposed to appeal to? John Mitchell's justice department? He appealed to congress by going 'public'. Congress and the Senate owe the people in separate ways than the WH does. He did the right thing.

letter signing web site? How wonderful would it be if he received a letter with thousands of signatures.

I would be careful when wrapping Felt in a patriotic light. Not understanding the circumstances surrounding why he did what he did and jumping the gun.... Yes, he helped take down Nixon, but if he did it to protect the secrets of the FBI, files that should be made public that Hoover held against those who "disagreed" with the establishment, you would be condoning the use of blackmail and other things we see happening today.

16. Thank you Mr. Felt for taking your Oath of office seriously. |
|
All Government employees from the lowlyest file-clerk right on up to the President of the US are required to take an Oath of Office to defend the Consistution and the US from all enemies both outside and within the US.
I cringe when the motor-mouths attack the Mr. Felt's, the FBI Agents, the CIA Agents, Intelligence Staff who attempted to warn thier supervisors as to threats against the US and are ignored and shunned as incompetants and unloyal to the President and his Administration.
These true Patriots did not take Oaths of Loyalty to any one man, administration or office, it was an Oath to all Peoples of the US that they would do whatever to protect and defend the US.
Let the Pat Buchanan, Chuck Colson, G. Gordon Liddy shout Traitor loud and long as it now reflects their true character. For those of us that have taken that Oath and held true to those words, We deeply appreciate and honor Mr. Felt.

21. Was Felt keeping his oath . . . . |
|
When he was convicted of illegally wire tapping friends of the Weather Underground in the late 1970s?
Look, Felt is a little more complex than a tool to use against Bush and the Mayberry Machiavellians.
I am not attacking Felt, I am just pointing out the facts.
The person who we should point to as having done bad acts is Gerald Ford for pardoning Nixon. Nixon should have been put in the dock and tried by a jury.

18. That is an interesting thought. |
|
But it's stretching the imagination to think that Nixon wanted to wrest those secrets from the FBI for anything other than his own selfish political interests. In fact, Nixon's interest in the FBI was always purely selfish.
If two rats are fighting and one kills the other one, at least there's one less rat. (It's just a metaphor, rat-lovers. Forgive me.)
