He was at our medical school today plugging legislation on a national Umbilical Cord/Placental Stem Cell Registry. He seemed optimistic that it would pass in the next year.
I wish I would have thought of something smarter to say to him other than "congrats on reelection senator". But thats the first US Senator I've ever met, hopefully next time I'll find something more interesting to say.

but I cannot get there to meet him. Now that you mention it, I have never met a Senator either. I suppose I could have met Tom Daschle when he was a representative. I talked to one of his aides in 1985 at the SD State Fair and asked "is he going to run for Senator?"
