Which left publications do you read?
Over the past 30 years or so I've subscribed at one time or another to most of the various publications of left/liberal press. Some have been better than others, and some that were good have since ceased publication. However, regardless of whatever other publication I've read or subscribed to over the years, the one publication that I have read continuously since the 1970's is The Nation. IMO, still the best publication of the democratic left.

But what are you folks reading these days? And is there any one publication that you find indispensible?

1. Second to the Nation
I also read Z Magazine, The Progressive, and the (not quite left) Economist.

6. The American Prospect
The New York Review of Books is too expensive for me nowadays, unfortunately, but they've been leading the pack in their coverage of the Iraq war and the lies that led to it, and to the Bush admin's general incompetence and deceit domestically and internationally.

8. The one publication that I miss...
...is In These Times. And, yes, I know it still exists. But it is not the same now as it was during the 80's when it was published in a newspaper format. In These Times then had better and more news coverage and analysis, plus more writers and pages than today's version. Moreover, back then In These Times was a weekly.
