Received disgusting RW e-mail today.
Received disgusting RW e-mail today, which encourages * to be even more *'ish, and is so xenophobic and short-sighted, I wouldn't even know where to begin to pick it apart. It is curious that at least some are now calling for a US pullout from Iraq, but suggest doing so as might a child who does not get his way, and now wants to leave with all his toys. The e-mail follows:

"WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN, GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?
My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.
Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.
This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

! The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.
I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA
treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.
God bless America. Thank you and good night.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

(Please forward this to at least ten friends and see what happens! Let's get this to every USA computer!) "

What can I say? What do you think?

That's why we must be super-dilligent in getting out the real facts, and help people see clearly what the situation is. Can you believe that the author of this letter is so uninforme? He either can't (or won't) put the blame where it really belongs; namely, on a man who did everything possible to get us into the worst possible situation.

7. REAL
Yes, it is real. I could not believe it myself. States some amazing non-facts. Since when is Spain again on our side? How could cessation of US aid possibly offset our recent increases in defense spending, including Iraq and Afganistan? Typical conservative logic; if you can't get your way (after years of secret planning, and an impressive manipulation of intelligence and media), blame it on everyone else, and say that our only fault is that we're just too damn generous.

it, point by point.

Just stop accepting mail from whomever sent this RW, xenophobic, jingoistic, puerile clap-trap to your mailbox. And pray, if you do, to whoever/whatever you pray to, that this person (the author of the screed) never, ever, EVER runs for ANY public office. I think he/she/it is even scarier than Bush, if such a thing is possible.

BTW...just what does the sender have against World Cup Soccer, anyway? How did THAT get in there? :D

I don't give a rat's ass about soccer, myself; it just struck me as odd, is all.

my head hurts now. I like how all countries who weren't with us in the war are just destined to be overrun by terrorists or that third world countries should go to France for help. What exactly were third world countries suppose to do to help the cause?
Oh hey drilling in Alaska will help us of course let's ignore the fact that oil won't be seen out of Alaska, if there is drilling, for at least 5 years. I need something to drink now

6. Well, where to start...
Spain Pulled pulled out. Its on List 2.

Alaska Cannot provide all our oil needs. Anyone with half a brain can see that. We consume twice as much oil as we can produce.

Act like that and we get embargoed on everything. Remember right wing "make myself richer and fuck my country" idiots, we don't have the manufacturing plants anymore. There goes our lifestyle.

And if embargoed, we don't have the army to take on the world. It cannot be done.

Nice rant, but they never think about the consequences.

I second the notion that you should send a message to the original sender telling them not to send anymore right wing screeds to you in the future.

11. I've received that peckerwood e mail numerous times

And the one allegedly by George Carlin,

And the one detailing all the frivolous lawsuits

And the "remember when" one that seeks to evoke a time when there were no lawyers, safety regulations, environmental regulations, or hate speech laws and the clergy ruled the country.

And the one during the election that had like 15 shots of Kerry caught in poses that could be interpreted as feminine

And the one after the election where Michael Moore, Kerry and all the Hollywood stars were being sent to the middle east, and it even had an illustration with all of them and Saddam and Bin Laden.

And the one about how the founding fathers wanted prayer and how the 10 commandments are on the Supreme Court door.

I MEAN WE LIBERALS AND DEMOCRATS ARE WAY BEHIND IN PROPAGANDISTIC SPAM E MAILS DISSEMINATED TO INFLUENCE PUBLIC OPINION. I HALF THINK THE GOP HAS AN OFFICIAL ORGAN THAT STARTS THESE THINGS.

For one, US foreign aid is a pittance, and most of it is no so much aid, as seed money for US corporations to make money in foreign countries.

Second, ANWR only contains enough oil to fulfill out needs for about 6 months...

The country is not yet ready for it. I'm afraid it will be too late by the time they are. Also, there's the messy little situation with the foreign debt. I guess the blue states would probably have to assume a pro-rated share of it; how could we expect to get international recognition of the new state if we hang all lender nations out to dry?

because after all of us "blue country" leave, this country will be a poverty-stiken, useless shell who cannot even pay for their own entitlements. I love that they always tell us to leave. Hey, you leave, there are more of us sane people (really!) than there are you religious right fundie wackos, freepers and lunatics.

I love when ignorant xenophobes get all high and mighty. They need us much, much more than we need them. Best thing to happen to the blue states would be if they threw us out.
