my son saw it; he's so proud of me.
It was in response to some snarky, pseudo-polite rePuke, spewing his "I grew up, got smart, stopped being crazy Democrat, hey since they're killing themselves anyway how about euthansia?" extreme bullshit. My response?
"Thanks, Mr. Gillis, for your politely insulting little column.
You’re going for the "polite" Malkin/Coulter Democrat bashing award, right? The kindly right wing pundit “implies" people on the left are "sick," like when you compare giving up gin as self destructive to your change from being a Democrat, or they're crazy by referring to "Suicidology."
You miss the point: politics isn’t a mutual admiration society; if Democrats agreed with Republicans, they wouldn't run for office. You say that hatred of the right is a trait of the Democrats? YOU seem to be fixated on "hate," mentioning it no less than than seven times; you seem to enjoy it. Who do YOU hate?
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a subtly hostile diatribe: so unsupported in its claims and so vilifying in its references. "...Americans...help the process along by providing a (sic) euthanasia for the Democratic Party...?” You’re saying we aren’t Americans and need to die?
This condescension and longing for one party rule breeds the hate, not us: we don’t “hate” anyone, just what you’ve done to the economy, Social Security, and the peace of the world. We think you’re wrong: not crazy, not suicidal, not anything but greedy; and wrong.
That’s our right, and calling it “hateful,” “foolish,” or “insane” IS un-American. You ask, “Need I say more?” Try “I’m sorry for my hate-filled, insulting rant?” Stick to “Community” for your tenure, and leave the Democrat bashing to the Malkins, Coulters, and Michael Reagans."
My son just loved it.
