O'Reilly Factor Ratings Drop Again in May !!!

The big slide continues, once again the factor ratings have dropped for the 7th month in a row. In October of 2004 the factor had a monthly average of 3.1 million viewers. Since then the factor has lost viewers every month. Last month (May) it dropped to a monthly average of 1.7 million. In April it was 1.9, so the factor viewers are still leaving at a rate of about 150,000 to 200,000 a month.

Here are the full ratings for all the cable news shows.

4. Good riddance, O' Really
even FAUX won't stand by you as you become more and more unprofitable. I remember just a couple of years ago O' Really giggling about how he was beating Larry King in the ratings and he was king of the cable news talk shows. Now he is nothing more than court jester.

Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 10:22 PM by Liberal Veteran
Perhaps he should start the "International Liver Spot Registry" where you can name a liver spot on his body after a loved one? You'll get a lovely plaque and a photo of the location of the liver spot!

13. No....I just have something against HIS liver spots...
It's kind of an old joke where he got all bent out of shape when Al Franken used a photo of him that was "excessively splotchy" on the cover of his book.

10. It's Pretty Simple........

All the right-wingers love FOX because they bias everything to the right, so they are happy with FOX and they watch it a lot. The rest of us are fed up with the corporate media so we have stopped watching the tv news.

If we had a liberal version of FOX we would all watch it and it would get good ratings too. We have CNN and MSNBC, so we do not watch either one of them.

14. I'm not looking for an argument here,believe me,but isn't there
some TV network that tells it the way is is?

I tend to float from one to the other, and am not a deep thinker anyway,so I just sort of watch the news and get most of my information from The Boston Globe,Newsweek,BBC World News, and of course the internet.

29. "Fox and everything else". Everything else beats Fox by at least 30 to one
Fox is only No. 1 among 24-hour cable news channels. Fox, like CNN, now reaches about 4 of every 5 television households, so comparisons with broadcast news shows are increasingly valid. And among all television news sources, Fox's performance is nothing to brag about.

The O'Reilly Factor is the best-rated show on Fox , with about 2 million viewers a night. CBS Evening News, the least-watched broadcast network evening news show, routinely gets four or five times as big an audience, and that's seen as a ratings disaster.

Fox's flagship news show, Special Report with Brit Hume, gets a million viewers on a good night...a few thousand more than the local newscast of New York City's WNBC.

If it's true that news can be put into two categories--Fox and everything else--then when Special Report airs, everything else beats Fox by at least 30 to one.

20. Well, "we" don't have CNN and MSNBC.
I watch exactly ONE program on either - an my signature pic makes it clear which one.

Pretty sad, really. I have a "crush" on a man - while very charming and good-looking - because he actually does his job. This is no slight at KO, but it's sad when people who want to hear all the news have only ONE American television source they can consider.

Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 12:14 AM by sonicx
liberals have turned to the internet.

It is silly for CNN and MSNBC to copy FOX because the people that watch FOX are sheep and are not going to switch channels to watch a watered down version of right wing news..

11. All of Faux/Bushco news programs are in decline
Bill Clinton made them and now that he's way out of the picture they have little else to talk about except hate liberals, hate liberals, and hate liberals. Then you can go to Hannity which is hate liberals, hate liberals, and hate liberals.

Then Greta comes on as Ms. Boring. But Murdoch made a killing for a while.

17. O'Reilly smutted himself plus he is so boring
Plus, the only theme Faux/Bushco news has is "hate liberals". Really amazing, Bushco has been in power since 2000 but everything is still the liberals fault. It gets old.

CNN and MSNBC will probably continue to rise as they are not so "hate liberals" theme driven.

I hope no democrat will agree to come on Faux, and Faux will dry up and blow away.

19. A suggestion to boost ratings
Why not a special investigative focus on loofahs and felafel as sex aids for men who are addicted to oxycontin, or who have been otherwise revealed as emasculated pervo-bullies.

Now that's getting into the No Spin Zone

30. Loofas? What about anal dildos?
I thought he enjoyed backdoor prostrate ticklers?

Tell that to anyone you know who enjoys the "factor". That O'Reilly is an anal-loving douchebag. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with anal butt when a morality-preacher like O'reilly is caught admitting he penetrates himself anally, the fact should be broadcasted far and wide.

21. Oh - wanted to point out that I was correct about something.
I had a very, teeny, tiny disagreement with another DUer regarding Keith Olbermann's ratings. I said he was the top-rated MSNBC news show and they thought Tweety and Squint beat him.
I was right - first MSNBC show on the roster with the highest ratings is KO.
But, I'm sure this DUer would LIKE being wrong about this. :hi:

And have never heard of those shows (other than a DUer or two mentioning them. Amy Goodman and I don't always see eye to eye, either. She's anti-military and I have a hard time stomaching that, even though I like some of what she says about other topics.)

I don't even know what dishnet is. Seriously, what is it? I don't have satellite.

37. He must be panicking as lately
They've been running ads for his show on places like "The Weather Channel." I was laughing so hard this morning when I saw it. It goes on and on about how his show is the number 1 cable news show. It looks so incredibly desperate that it makes me laugh. It also makes me want to call up the cable company and have them block Faux from my service. I have it blocked on all my TV's but I want them to block it permanently at their end.

BTW, he looks like hell too in the commercials. I haven't seen him in years and he looks really worn out and tired.
