Just walked my 80 year old dad through signing the Conyer's letter...
THEN walked him through forwarding it to all his "greatest generation" email buddies.

And if I have to go over to THEIR houses and walk them through signing it, I WILL.

Please people, if you haven't signed this letter, DO IT.

60's civil-rights workers, retired judges, and ex-lawmakers?

I will be very happy to help them out if they need it.
Especially when it comes to forwarding it out to all THEIR contacts. :D

7. here's a sample email you can send ...
Subject: Please help impeach bush

Congressman John Conyers sent a letter to bush asking him to respond to allegations that bush "fixed the intelligence around the policy" to justify an invasion of Iraq.

Conyers is trying to obtain 100,000 signatures in an online petition to support the argument that Congress should investigate the charges.

Here's a link to Conyers' website: http://www.johnconyers.com/

At the bottom of the explanatory text is a link to the actual letter he sent to bush ... click that link and sign the petition at the bottom of the page ...

Please distribute this email as widely as you can. Thanks.

letter.

The letter I sent my dad (and helped him to forward) also included a brief description of just who John Coyers is (with the wikipedia link to John Conyer's bio):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Conyers

I also tossed in a mention of The Conyers Report on the 2004 Presidential Election (complete with link):
http://www.academychicago.com/conyers.html

With the way the media is now, you can't take it for granted that the recipients will be aware of any of the above.

edited to include links

17. site is down temporarily due to very high volume !!
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 03:28 PM by welshTerrier2
Conyers just posted the following info online:

Avnet, my internet service provider, just advised me of a major outage. They assure me they will work all night if need be to fix it.

My friend Randi Rhodes read the name of the website eight times on the air and I suspect that, in combination with this diary, created a crush on the site.

Please do not give up. Please keep trying.

20. I just adore Congressman Conyers - 'created a crush on the site'
I admire him so much for having a blog he actually writes himself! And, I love the fact that he substituted 'crush' for 'crash' -- love, also that he calls Randi his friend.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - how ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."
