Drawing uncovered of 'Nazi nuke'
Historians working in Germany and the US claim to have found a 60-year-old diagram showing a Nazi nuclear bomb.

It is the only known drawing of a "nuke" made by Nazi experts and appears in a report held by a private archive.

The researchers who brought it to light say the drawing is a rough schematic and does not imply the Nazis built, or were close to building, an atomic bomb.

But a detail in the report hints some Nazi scientists may have been closer to that goal than was previously believed.

(The diagram appears in an undated report about nuclear weapons work in Nazi Germany)

1. Interesting very interesting
There is also a book out there and forget the title and author but he claims that he found evidence that the Japanese not only tried to build an atomic bomb but succeeded in testing it off the coast of Korea. The problem is that they tested it only about two weeks or so before the surrender of Japan and the facilities and staff were captured by the Russian army.

4. His arguments were very persuasive
But he just quite get me to believe it. Though it still is a very fascinating and intresting book. Let check something out and I will get back to you on it. I think I recall the library where I originally took it out of.

7. Here it is
Its older than I thought so you may have some trouble finding it. You may have to check a library or a used bookstore.

2. That's a gun-type nuclear device
With gun-type nuclear weapons, you basically smash a bullet of uranium or plutonium into a plug of the same material. The diagram pretty much shows it. It's less efficient than an implosion-type device, but it's also far easier to engineer than implosion-type weapons.

If a nation is going to build its first nuke, a gun-type weapon is usually the first model to be tried until that nation becomes more proficient at manufacturing and designing these kinds of weapons to move onto more advanced models.

8. I can't recall seeing the documentary but I do recall reading about it
They were even designing a bomber to carry it to the US dubbed the Amerika Bomber. It supposedly had the range to fly to NY and back nonstop.
