Poll question: Most cringe-inducing Franken gag
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 12:29 PM by UdoKier
There's plenty of stale, borscht-belt material to work with, but what's the most cringe-inducing Franken gag?

1. BTW, that "Talk to Me" song's real title is "Misty"

And I like all of it...although my all-time favorite is the "Supply-Side Jesus" comic strip from his "Lying Liars" book.

Edited to add: the most cringe-inducing was his interview with the pillow that smothered Arafat (although not a fan of Arafat by any stretch of the imagination), I thought that wasn't very funny

7. Liam the Loose-Boweled Leprechaun. I think the idea of that bit is that it
is cringe-inducing, and for Katherine's reaction to it.

6. What, no option to vote for Katherine Lampher?
I don't like a couple of the bits - the "sexy wonk" thing, the oi oi oi show is kind of lame. But, I listen to Al because I for the most part like his humor very much. But that side kick needs a kick literally. She contributes nothing and is annoying as hell.

8. "the pillow that smothered Arafat"
I luv Al, but that one (which gets replayed in "best of" shows so they like it) doesn't do it for me.

I liked his Stewart Smalley character on SNL, too.

16. Tom Oliphant up next
Love to hear his take on things. I wish his show was four hours instead of three - they need to spend more time on things

15. I love the oy oy oy show and Wait Wait don't lie to me.
Cause I love the guy and I'm grateful to him for working so hard for Democrats, for never failing to hold the liars to account when just about nobody would. Even now! But the diahrea leprechaun does sound nasty.

18. EVERYTHING Franken does causes me to cringe.
And I hate it when he interrupts his guests, which he does frequently. He's NOT funny and seldom cogent.

19. Radio news crawl...or something like that.
HE and Katherine would be debating, and some other voice would come on and give little factoids of current events, talking over them. Katherine hated it and stopped it after about a minute or so. He thought it was funny. It wasn't. Sort of like his last hour of SNL writing. Who turned it off after the Coneheads or Ed Grimley?

Another annoying one was this Iraqi brother to a candidate during the Jan elections. It was a root canal!
