"Patriot Pastors" are being organized around the country
Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 07:24 PM by undeterred
with the intent of "reclaiming America for Christ". This includes putting a Republic voting guidebook next to the Bible and Hymnal in every pew. This is where our activism regarding the religious right should be focused. It seems to me it would be a violation of tax exempt status.

"Vision America is dedicated to providing you with the tools you need to stand up and speak out on the great moral issues of our day. We can provide you with educational, legal, and moral support through a network of professionals who are committed to Biblical truth and dedicated to restoring America’s Christian heritage."

2. Patriot pastors?
So is this how they plan on turning America into a theocracy?

Pro-Family Advocate: Selfish Homosexual Subculture Has Annexed Frisco
(AgapePress) - A pro-family leader says families have been driven out of San Francisco, California, because of the high cost of living and the increasingly family-unfriendly culture itself. According to an Associated Press report, San Francisco's 18-and-under population is just 14.5 percent -- the lowest percentage of children for any major city in the United States.

Robert Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute, believes a major reason for this statistic is that San Francisco's dominant subculture is prompting families to flee the city. That subculture, Knight contends, is largely made up of childless adult singles and couples -- many of them homosexuals -- who live well and who live mainly for themselves. "The homosexuals have enormous influence," he says. "It's a very artsy city, and everything's very expensive. That's one reason families can't afford to live there anymore. It's all geared toward either the single life or the two-income adult life without kids."

Today in San Francisco, Knight points out, there is a proliferation of what used to be called "dinks," or "dual income, no kids" households. Many of these are homosexual couples, and in a city where homosexuals represent 20 percent of the population, the pro-family leader says it is no surprise that there are so few children. "The homosexual lifestyle is about pleasing oneself," the CFI spokesman asserts, "not planning for the future, not setting aside money for kids, not trying to create a situation where the generations come together. It's about having fun. It's about indulging in whatever desire you want at any given time."

3. W's war policies are not Christian
and violate the Golden Rule. Many churches agree that preemptive strikes is not what Christ would want. My good friend who is on the governing board of directors of the Lutherans agrees with my view.

I hit up others with this view when they brag about W and his "Christianity".

4. Is it possible to obtain a list of all tax exempt churches and go after
them?. This is a blatant abuse of the law regarding tax exemptions.

7. WV has a "Patriots for Peace" that is the real deal!!!
I personally know the president of their organization, a truly fabulous progressive whose son is in Iraq. They are also tied into the Interfaith Alliance.

So, please, be careful not to exclude the majority of decent folks due to a few freakin' weirdos.

KAY?

13. I don't mean to at all- I am a progressive Christian myself
I am just so tired of seeing all the mindless aimless religion bashing that goes on which produces zero results towards changing anything. There is a "real enemy" here, and it is politicized religion.

All that frustration should be focused on stopping the groups that are actually trying to effect political change by exploiting peoples religious beliefs.

16. Oh. I'm sorry. I totally agree that politizing religion hurts us all.
Seriously. These people can NOT be allowed to crush the love and tolerance that all religions share. These people can NOT be allowed to usurp religion for power-mongering benefits. Humanity has grown out of such evil things,...and we demand that the line be drawn against such destructive abuses.

Been there!!! Done that!!! NO MORE!!!!

I sorry if I misunderstood  My closest family member is leaving for training tomorrow before being shipped out to Iraq and I've been torn up, emotionally whacked out this whole week. I've been such a bitch. sorry

That's patriotic.

It's the only way they'll ever get any kind of respect from Americans.

15. I think religious institutions used to be on the "honor" system
but now that some of them can't be trusted, the laws need to be enforced.
