Time to put our money where our mouth is |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-21-03 12:54 AM by wtmusic
OK dems--as the 3rd quarter draws to a close time is getting tight to make those federal matching funds donations. Here are three great reasons to do it now (instead of waiting 'til 11P 9/30): 1) Several campaigns reported last minute snags with online contributions due to heavy traffic; 2) Every dollar up to $250/qtr is matched by fed funds so your money goes twice as far 3) The best reason of all:
2Q gross receipts
Dean for America $7,601,097.26 Edwards for President, Inc. $4,517,709.35 Gephardt for President Inc. $3,836,260.51 Bob Graham for President Inc $2,016,164.79 John Kerry for President Inc $5,866,126.95 Kucinich for President Committee $1,539,319.63
Bush/Cheney $35,148,846.97
That's right, Bush/Cheney pulled in nearly five times more than his nearest Democratic challenger in Q2. It takes more than a great message to become president in 2004--so dig deep. The more it hurts, the better you'll feel!</soapbox>

Did you hear about the 'Federal matching Jaguar' program? If you just donate that $98,000 Jag to the Dean campaign...;-)

Every few days you'll see a thread from people arrogantly and proudly bragging because they "refused" to donate and sent a letter to the DNC to that effect.

donated $200 to Dean, but will now wait til the final candidate is picked and will double the donation to that person, even if it turns out to be a ground squirrel.

5. Save Money For the DNC |
|
When the primaries are over, that's when we'll really need money. Be sure to have some cash left over for donating to the DNC for the General (whoops, I mean small-g general) election.
I'll give money to any Dem candidate then, though I support Clark now. I will even donate to Lieberman and Kucinich, neither of whom I really want to call Mr. President.

give both times!!
Remember the big Republican guns will come on board after the convention too, especially with polls looking like they are.

9. NEVER!! The DNC will not get a penny from me until or unless |
|
it actually becomes an opposition party.
I see a few stirrings, but they've got a long, long way to go.
And oh yeah, ditch the DLC. Permanently.

10. Good for you for posting this! |
|
And good for anyone who has translated their "support" into a donation and/or giving their time or energy.
For myself, I don't care WHICH Dem candidate. I don't wanna hear nuthin' about who anyone "backs" like THAT'S a grand pronouncment that has earth-shattering repercussions. Unless you back it up, it ain't worth shit.
