Judge Orders Release of Abu Ghraib Photos--
http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20050602-053840-8600r.htm

Washington, DC, Jun. 2 (UPI) -- A federal court has ordered the Pentagon to release photographs depicting abuse of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison, a civil rights group said Thursday.

Under the order, the Pentagon has until June 30 to redact and release 144 photos, the American Civil Liberties Union said. The Defense Department must also tell the court by June 10 how long it will take to redact four movies, which have not yet been seen publicly.

All the imagery was provided by Army Sgt. Joseph Darby who turned it over to the Army's Criminal Investigation Command in early 2004.

The 144 photos and four movies would be drawn from 1,800 photos and images Pentagon and congressional officials viewed last year after the Abu Ghraib scandal became public.

---of course we've already read here that the white house's excuse for not releasing them is a geneva convention issue, which is total ironic bullshit.

---it's not the torture that's bad, it's the photos. it's not the wholesale slaughter of 100,000 innocent people, or about the 1,670 dead g.i.'s or the 15,000 crippled g.i.'s and the thousands of future dead and crippled g.i.'s, it's about those awful photos and how they make us look bad and how they might inflame the arab world which for some unexplained reason is already mad at us.

fuckheads, face up to your crimes. you decreed these tortures and mass murders now LOOK AT THE FUCKING PHOTOS and let us look at them too. our tax dollars enabled you fuckers to do these things, now let's SEE the ugly fucking truth.

1. Are these the photos
that Sy Hersh talked about last year? I remember him saying that there were more, and they were worse than the ones that are out already but then they never came out.

2. IIRC, there was a press scrum after the congressional screening.
It's interesting that not one of our :sarcasm: honorable :sarcasm:/OFF congress critters followed up. Not one. Nada. Zippity-doo-dah.

3. Yes, I want it all out there...
for the entire world to see. I want the assholes who compared these actions to frat behavior to be forced to view every single one of these images, and then imagine how they would feel if these were AMERICAN soldiers being treated like this.
