Thank God for the Media's Discretion on the Downing Street Memo
It looks like they've learned their lesson.

In Rathergate, they almost destroyed a patriotic serviceman's military record based on one flimsy stack of documents, one of which, while confirmed as accurate, may have been forged.

And, more recently, Newsweek almost cast a dark shadow over the the same patriot's concentration camps and torture facilities -- all because of something having to do with tossing a book into a crapper.

Discretion is a good thing, DU-ers. We don't want the people whom we're torturing and murdering to get the wrong idea.

I side with discretion.

1. I don't know
Seems like it could be a bad thing, if it lets bastards get away with being bastards.

12. But it is the bastards who are letting the bastards get away with being...
bastards. While the good guys are helplessly resigned to a message board.

Once it hasn't been reported, it's old hat.

8. I take credit for that part.
Once something doesn't happen, it can't not happen again. (In crazyworld.)

9. This is not a single news item
It is an issue story from the perspective of the media. It will have ensuing news hooks that are event driven and it is reasonable to expect reporters to follow. For example, there will be furether developments as time goes on, additional facts are revealed, and Rep. Conyers and Kerry work to move this through the oversight process.

10. I don't care, just so long as the Downing Street Memo ...
becomes a cause celebre, everyone knows about it, and it brings down Dubya.

11. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be seriously. Seriously.
So don't tell the truth about the gangster Bush. Trust the media to do their jobs. The free Congress and Justice Department assure us, help is on the way.
