First of all, if you or I choked on a pretzel and were hypoxic long enough that we then passed out, the paramedics would be summoned and they would want to transport us to a local ERD to do further testing. We could refuse that if we were wide awake and appeared to be doing well after the fact (but believe me, they would try their best to get us to go). BUT this was the POTUS!!! They WOULD want to do further testing. Count on it. They would want a cardiac work-up as well as Pulmonary work-up. EKG, Blood gases and chem panel at the very least. Those can be done at home but they would want the POTUS checked out from head to toe. They would want a CT scan or MRI of his head, since he bumped it so hard. AGAIN, this is the POTUS!!! They might let you or I slide. But not him. He would have a full-court-press physical exam from the very best.

I hadn't heard about the Nyquil factor before. But this nurse had said that when Mulroney was prime minister, and bush senior was vp, bush junior therefore had to have been aware of this. She said her suspicions stem from the pattern she saw in Mulroney that she believes she's also seeing with bush: Mulroney, an alcoholic, used to close down early every night because he'd go home to hit the Nyquil bottle. Then, the following morning, he'd be up working out, presumably trying to work off a hangover. She said she wondered if bush's early bedtime and his propensity for working out in the morning and his history of alcoholism were just a repeat of what Mulroney did. MOST intriging.
