I heard yesterday that the Dominos Pizza CEO paid for Paul Hill's defense |
|
..the Florida abortion doctor murderer. Is this true? Has anyone else heard that?

but if it's true, I'd hardly be surprised. Tom Monaghan is a politically active hard right fundie nutcase.

3. a domino's pizza ceo/owner has long been a major funder |
|
of "operation rescue".
however, i though i heard a few years that that ceo/owner left and sold his stake. don't know the details, but i thought that domino's pizza was no longer 'politically incorrect'.

a new Catholic University being built near the Everglades just outside of Naples, Florida. I believe its being called Ava Maria University. It is now open with its first freshman class of about 125 students.

2. Dominoes has in the past donated to anti-abortion organizations. |
|
Don't know if paying for the defense is true, but a couple years ago they came up in conversation with friends as contributing alot to anti-abortion groups
When you look at the lists of companies that are "for" or "against" a topic near to your heart, you'd wind up not buying half the items in your house currently.

4. oh yeah that is old news among activists. |
|
I forget the CEO's name but he funds anti abortion groups. In the movie "Reality Bites" Winona Ryder's character has a fit because one of her friends wants to order Domino's Pizza and she goes into a rant about that. I haven't eaten Domino's Pizza for quite some time for that reason.

5. Come on, what will this mean, its not like you can boycott Domino's |
|
Because, in order to boycott it, you would first have to eat Dominos pizza. And what kind of sick, self-hating individual would do that?

Domino's has problems because of its fanatically anti-choice leadership.
Pizza Hut is part of Yum Brands (YUM), along with KFC and Taco Bell. PETA has a boycott against KFC for bad chicken raising. And Pizza Hut allegedly uses Pictsweet mushrooms on its pizzas, and there's a union boycott on those. (It's apparently OK to order the pizza under that boycott, but you should hold the mushrooms.) Plus Taco Bell ran that foul advertising campaign in California, with a "poll" based on the items people ordered. Naturally, Arnold got the most popular (and "toughest") product, the standard taco.
Papa John's? Little Caesar's? Your local pizza joint?
(On edit: Corrected "pro-life" to "anti-choice.")

10. Yeah the Taco Bell California poll was a joke |
|
Buy a taco, vote for Arnold. A vote for Davis is a chicken soft taco.
Lets see, chicken soft tacos are about two fifty, and they are featured in one meal.
Tacos are like seventy cents, are featured in almost every meal, and are usually bought two or three at a time...
And they say Arnold won? Well no shit.

I don't say WOW all that often. As i become more and more disillusioned and desensitized, all I can find myself saying nowadays is, "Hmm".
