It's a take-off on the fundie pharmacists who refuse to fill birth control prescriptions!
Obviously, anyone who really did believe chemical prescriptions were immoral would NOT become a pharmacist.
By extension, anyone singling out 1 particular legal, safe, and widely used prescription and refusing to fill it should NOT become a pharmacist.

use birth control pills for other reason's besides sexual issues. Sometimes women need them for menstural business. So if you're denying someone your perscription and you have no where else to go (like if you live in a small town) you could really mess up someone's cycle.

A Christian Scientist is a person who, as an article of faith, does not believe in the use of medicines. It is God's will that nature run its course, or so they believe.

BS 'funny' crap people say about one. Gay jokes, racial jokes, religious jokes, all just a real riot, huh? Just look how many on this thread took it as true.
It would have been more lightly taken, had the original poster not presented it as truthful.
Is this what we do here? Ridicule and tell racial, gay and religious jokes? I haven't seen racial jokes, but I have been truly sickened at comments made as "funny" regarding gays here, lately.
I would have thought this would be a place of tolerance. It is looking like a place of bigotry.

46. WHAT "LOT of speculative bits about 'what if'"???? |
|
The person indicates he had had a great deal of "love for, and faith in doctors". There is ZERO mention of "what if"(WTF??!!!). He says nothing about refusing to fill prescriptions! GEEZ! He speaks of a personal, private spiritual matter. I also note that this was written in 1919.
This whole thread is dumbass. No Christian Scientist has ever lobbied anyone that people shouldn't use what ever medical remedies or treatment they choose. None has ever knocked on your door to proselytize to you. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT accepted that parents may withhold medical treatment from minor children.
But, hey, we here at DU have decided we can just mischaracterize whatever religion we care to. It's the new "black".

You seem to have read only the first testimonial at the top of the list about one pharmacist's conversion to Christian Science. The other links are all non-fact-based speculation about "what if" there was a Christian Scientist pharmacist.
Either you missed my point or I'm missing yours -- but you sure sound like you're on the attack for the wrong reason.
