AM 1260 in DC listeners-- We have to get Imus off!!

For those of you who don't follow this, our Air America station in DC puts Imus on in the morning -- despite the fact that he is also on one of the station's sister channels (570AM). Lately, I've felt like a bit of a hypocrite since I've posted about this a couple of times, and sent messages to the station -- despite the fact that I've never listened to his show. So today, I decided to listen for a few minutes. He was interviewing John Harris, a Wash. Post reporter who just wrote a book about Bill Clinton. In those few minutes Imus:

(1) Managed to call Clinton a "fat Arkansas hick" at least 3 times.
(2) Stated that HRC has no chance to win in 2008 and that her victory in NY is not indicative of her electibility since New York was "dumb enough to elect Mario Cuomo and RFK."

That's about all I could handle. (Note that my quotes are not exact).

What more can we do??? I've sent emails, and I know that many others have done so as well. I really am considering not listening to the entire station until they get rid of this creep.

It became "Progressive Talk Radio" on Inauguration Day.

I live in the D.C. area, too, but had never listened to AM 1260. I take it that, prior to the change-over to "Imus," you used to listen to the sports shows in the morning?

The signal goes about 8 feet apparently.

I was literally gagging when Pat was calling Felt a traitor on <em>my</em> radio station, and Imus was just laughing along.

I used to feel sorry for him when he bombed at the White House Correspondent's Dinner where he was the speaker, but ever since I listened to some of what he has to say, he deserved the embarrassment.

I wish they didn't have Ed Schultz too, he's kind of a dip. They should have Randi Rhodes live instead of him & I hate the weird way they do it by having her part live & part canned.

I don't understand the Imus presence - was he on 1260 before it became progressive or something?
