Rare white buffalo dies

Sad news from a ranch in northeast B-C that recently celebrated the birth of a rare white buffalo.
Karen Blatz of the Blatz Bison Ranch says the calf, named Spirit of Peace, has died.
She says the baby, which was born premature, began deteriorating earlier this week and died despite getting antibiotics.
The chances of the birth of a white buffalo are said to be about one in 10 (m) million. ---

I vaguely remember it was due to some sort of accident.

Native friends have said that the birth is the auspicious sign. It doesn't much matter how long it lives.

Let's hope they're correct about that.
