1. I second those sentiments!

It will be nice to not have to see Bob Novak sneering on that show. Nor his cheap-shot one liners.

And oh, poor Tucker Carlson, what will happen to Bow-Tie Boy ... a man that couldn't even make it on a canceled show? LOL

7. Oh boy, at least we know it won't be a reality show, or have anything ...
remotely to do with the real world of us working stiffs. :P

6. I think he has a new show on MSNBC
Tucker Carlson, that is. I think I heard that. There was a thread about it a few days ago. I believe the show is called "The Situation" or something. And I think he still has his PBS show. If I find the thread, I'll come back and add it to this post.

5. I think Jon Stewart's visit did a lot to "seal its fate"
He managed to get ON THE AIR, the absurdity of it all..Yay Jon..
What they are replacing it with is still crap, though..

11. Unfortunately Jon was talking about all of CNN, but
I guess the CNN execs wanted to believe that it only was Crossfire he was referring to.

20. OT: So your Mystery Vote machine made me chuckle...
and I was thinking (and this will show my age), that someone more clever than I should do a graphic of the old Mystery Date board game, called Mystery Vote, and have it parroting the silly song on those commercials.

Mystery Date
Oh yes it's Mystery Date
Is he a dream (rising "ahhh!")
or a dud? (disappointed "ohhh.")

Translated to:

Mystery Vote
Oh yes, it's Mystery Vote
Did it count for Kerry the "dream" (rising "ahhh!")
or for Bush** the DUD? (disappointed "ohhh.")

21. It was a beautiful moment
wasn't it? I almost cried with joy when I watched it. I already worshipped Jon Stewart at that point but didn't really have proof positive of his liberal leanings (he could have been just an opportunistic and really good comedian).

9. I'm sorry. Crossfire was informative - if only to find out what the
inside the beltway politics & propaganda was. The prince of darkness was a way to channel WH propaganda & Grover lunch meetings in a timely fashion. So you know what the bullshit will be for the week.

I have found the DU to be much more informative. So I plant myself here instead.

Perhaps why the numbers are down. Political junkies and warriors are on the boards!

10. This is not such a great thing

While the constant partisan bickering made it look a little ridiculous, this was one of the only shows that gave both sides a fair chance. I can't recall an instance where one side got more time than the other, and both sides always had equal representation. In addition Paul and James were excellent spokesman for democrats and were able to hold there own against the RNC talking points- distortions.

I'd say it's where Bush&Co are situated right now. :)

18. I long for the days of Michael Kinsley
when the show was on at 6pm...when it was a full hour. When they actually discussed and debated issues in something longer than 10 second soundbites and zingers.

But I've missed THAT for years. I don't miss the utter piece of crap that's paraded around for the last few years under the name of that ONCE proud show.

Kinda like Firing Line and the even the McLaughlin Group...all used to offer some insight.

But insight is too expensive and risky to tptb now. So they've all died quiet deaths.

Adios Crossfire Imposter.

16. good riddance....
I get enraged enough reading articles and books concerning our country's illegal, immoral, and corrupt government. I don't need to cloud the issues with drivel..spoken by paid-for shmucks, trying to contaminate the air with their poppy-cock.

Airwave pollution of the worst sort. What is Tucker"s main qualification to provide him punditry privileges? He even insults Paul Simon's legacy-the bow-tie.
