Weekend activism from the DNC on the Downing Street Issue here!
It's quick, easy and very worthwhile.

Scroll down a bit here to:

1. Alert your local media.
2. Contact your local officials.

http://www.democrats.org/blog/comment/00012146.html

First, get the facts. Visit Downing Street Memo.com to learn everything there is to know about the memo. You can read the memo itself and learn how Bush's rhetoric directly contradicted the facts in the memo.

Alert the media. Has your local media covered the story? Write a letter to local media outlets asking why they don't think a memo proving the Bush administration lied to push us into war isn't important.

Contact your elected officials. Have your Representative and Senators spoken out about this memo? Call them today and ask them.

More Suggestions: I personally suggest mentioning Kerry's intention to bring up "Memogate" in Monday Senate session, as well as asking the media to put this topic above the frikken Jackson trial.

Pleeeeease keep this kicked gang! :kick:

5. Has anyone written a letter to you local media complaining about lack of
coverage? If so, could you post it as a guideline. Or is there something like that at downingstreetmemo.com?

To whom this may concern: *Meant to be sarcastic* ;)

President George W. Bush may be guilty of war crimes and no one in the mainstream media is apparently concerned? Today's scuttlebutt is that the "Jackson trial is wrapping up" and "deep-throat" has come forward, yet our press continues to ignore a current scandal that makes Watergate look like toddlers play.

Must the blogs continue to do the job of our so called free press?

I would ask why Monica Lewinsky drew more attention from America's mainstream media then the "downing street memo/minutes" which prove George Bush to be a cold calculating liar at the very least, if true. And, these weren't just any LIES - Americans and others have paid for said lie(s) with their lives, and we continue to pay with our tax dollars and our children will pay for generations.

Do you care if our President lies about matters of life and death? Or, must he have had sex with someone to draw your attention?

Sincerely,

I think many DU-ers have a different style then I do, but it's an idear' anyhow.

:hi:

On edit, I've sent others since, mentioning Kerry's intention to bring this up on Monday. I also asked that they put this matter ahead of the tabloidesque Jackson trial.
