activist had died.
I loved his voice, his politics, just the fact that he existed made a difference.

to walk through the garden. No such luck here. I am kinda spaced due to a migraine. It takes me a bit to get my wits back.
Go to his site and listen to the first song, "Work Song." Nat Adderly wrote the tune, OBJ put lyrics to it.

9. The expressiveness of his voice is what attracted me. |
|
I remember when Lou Rawls did a cover of Living Double. He copied every word, ever inflection, even the adlibs. Pissed me off.
I remember playing and playing "Mr Oscar Brown Jr goes to Washington." He was such a good story teller.
Rap really took off when Yellow Man hit the scene. The first rap I remember was The Last Poets, "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised."
Was "Hot Rod Lincoln" rap?

As talented as he was, I left thinking what a nice man.
