Time to use the "I" word - IMPEACH
I know, I know, Tom DeLay would never let it get out of committee. But who cares?

Let the GOP shut it down. By doing so, they'll be revealing themselves as the cynical, partisan hacks that they are.

Plus, it'll give our side more to rally around and get "Bush" and "impeachment" in the same sentence in the minds of lots of voters.

If it is handled right, it will hardly matter whether the impeachment action gets out of committee. A PR campaign of op-ed pieces, letters to the editor blogging, web sites, ads, demonstrations, etc. in support of the impeachment attempt would accomplish a lot, even if it never "succeeded" in generating an impeachment trial.

The Sunday morning shows would have to spend time on it, as would CNN, and the major networks and the newspapers. Fox might ignore it. It'd be an irritant in that way, too... by pushing the Bush message off the air just a bit and forcing them to react.

6. Buy "IMPEACH BUSH" bumper stickers!
Keep copies of the DSM in your vehicle just in case some FAUX Propaganda watcher has never heard of it. Enlighten them! Spread the word...far and wide....IMPEACH. IMPEACH. IMPEACH. People ARE talking and after Monday and John Kerry's Senate speech, it SHOULD BE all over the airwaves. :bounce::woohoo:

9. I agree
I'm listeing to the reairing of Alex Jones' radio show since I don't get to listen during the day and Malloy is a rerun tonight. He's been talking about how people will sue him for what he says and things like that and he's gone to court and won some battles. One caller called in and made an excellent point that would go in this thread. The caller said that the reason why people don't respond to him (like rightwing politicians for example) is because he has proof of what he says (he said he likes to make sure he has at least three different sources of a story to make sure it's really true and valid) and they will have to defend themselves. You can't lie in court because if you do and it's found out through proof then you can get into huge trouble. I think this is definitetley the beginning of the impeachment ordeal. I'm feeling a little hopeful but I'm not setting myself up though. It's nice that Kerry is now on this issue as well and hopefully he can get other democratic Senators and Congress reps on it as well.

10. Impeachment
would be a stupendously bad idea. It would read as (and be harped on as)as a payback for Clinton. I want this guy to crash and burn on his own. Failed impeachment would just make us look bad.

26. I won't have to "happen"
The point would be to mobilize and unify progressives around the idea and to make the GOP respond. If the heat gets turned up enough, they may have to give in and put it to a vote. But even if they don't, it provides a useful focal point and the debate around it would help expose Bush's crimes. It also could shut down the Bush agenda for at least a year by dominating the news and the "oxygen" of public debate.

18. they refer everything to Clinton anyway so who cares?
go to breakfast with a RW'er sometime, if the pancakes come out too early it's Clinton's fault.

bacon too crisp? too much pulp in the OJ? Clinton's fault and Clinton's fault.

Seriously, their fascination with the Clenis knows no bounds. so our goal can never be "avoid having RW'ers think about Clenis." because then they win.

21. How does talking about impeachment equal failed impeachment??
Any articles submitted would be voted down by this Congress. The next Congress? A different story if I have any say about it. But either way, we'd be taking a stand. A principled stand for what's right. Bye-bye pink tutus.

15. I am not a screamer...
But I had a dream last night/this morning, and it's been haunting me all day.

I was outside in a public area, there were green lawns and swept sidewalks, somewhere like a park or government facility. The sky was clear and blue, with white fluffies drifting across, and the air was that perfect balance of cool breeze with warm sunshine.

There were people milling about, not many but a few, all moving along to their individual destinations. I stood there looking around at the calm, and felt a rising panic in my chest that came over me like a drowning wave. The panic wasn't the terror you feel when tragedy is immediately happening. The panic was what you feel when you see something terrible happening to somebody else - like witnessing a horrific car accident, or discovering a house on fire.

Nothing I could see should have caused me to feel like this: just people droning about on their daily deeds on a beautiful day.

I began screaming, gasping like I was coming up from under water, screaming over and over again, "Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!"

I don't remember ever having a dream like this. It was a first.:-(
