3. That's a good point ...
We may not be able to prove evolution, but we can certainly prove devolution. I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

6. It is a certain tendency in the tabloid headlines
Towards picking on the US as 'gone mad'.

Fundamentalism is never pretty to watch from afar, and the 48 mill. (plus!) Americans that are more or less the same as ourselves tend to be invisible in comparison.

The Norwegian journalists know about THIS place, though! :D
I have mailed several, and also been a LOUDMOUTH on several internet communities where journalists hang out.
So if they want to find the truth, they have no excuse not to.

7. You're discussing evolution over there?
Seriously? Lol...

What's so threatening about evolution? If you want it, you can be spiritual AND consider evolution as a fact at the same time.

Maybe better discuss how to give Bush a proper impeachment...
I'd like it televised in Dolby 7.1 Surround and a 24h jailcam in his cell afterwards!

8. The sane half of this country has no problem with evolution ...
it's the other half of the country that's trying to get the "unproven theory" out of our public schools and replaced with their religious beliefs. :eyes:

9. There is little coverage of the debate in Canada....
when it is mentioned it is in a 'how weird' kind of way. Done like those 'odditiy' clips you see inserted near the end of a news program.

10. no,
the joke would be on us.

There are people and political parties advocating creationism in Europe as well. For instance, in Italy Berlusconi tried to remove evolution from the middle schools; it took public protests to bring it back.

But yeah; I am laughing about European and American creationists equally. I just hope that it stays a laughing matter ...
