Man tasered- no effect, sent to hospital to determine why
Young drunken driver faces a deluge of charges

http://tinyurl.com/dgp3v

At that point, the man and his passenger attempted to exit the vehicle and enter the home, but were ordered to return to the vehicle by police. After they refused to comply, both men were ordered to the ground, at which time, the passenger complied but the driver continued walking.

Police used a Taser on the driver and eventually struck him with a baton, but the man, who was unresponsive to both painful stimuli, continued to run inside the house. Police followed him through the front door and again used the Taser one more time in effort to contain the man. Again, it failed.

Eventually, officers had to use pepper spray before the man surrendered and curled himself into the fetal position on the ground.

The man, who police say was highly intoxicated, was arrested for driving without a license and was transported to Akron Children's Medical Center for testing to determine why he didn't respond to painful stimuli. After he was released with a diagnosis of pneumonia, the man was issued 14 citations, including obstructing official business, resisting arrest, underage possession, having an open container in a motor vehicle, underage possession, weaving, fleeing and eluding, and driving with expired license plates.

1. "Underage Possession" twice.
"We like 'underage possession'."

6. I wasn't aware that weaving was an infraction
and if it is , just how far does one have to weave?

I wonder what those tests at the hospital consisted of...they'd have to have something to do with painful stimuli , would they not?

2. Was he also charged with violation of...
"The Ugly Act of 1934", commonly known as the "Thirty-Four Ugly Act".

Hope he realizes just how close he was to getting his cap peeled back. The only reason they threw that many charges on him was because they wanted to shoot him, but had too many witnesses....

5. Well, then, why even have a trial?
Just shoot the dog in his front door.

14 charges. Rhe cops must have been REALLY pissed. Wonder they didn't charge him as an accessory in the JFK murder, too.
That's what I was getting at.

3. Ok, I'm hopelessly confused here
(like that's anything new).

They took him to the hospital because he didn't get sick/injured/damaged by the taser but they sent him home when they discovered he was sick with pneumonia.

I doan geddit.

7. A point nobody mentioned.
This driver was busted for underage possession. They carried him to a children's hospital. I don't think this was some grandpa that they were tasering the shit out of.

I guess youngsters just bounce back faster when hit with 80,000 volts. Particularly when they're nervous system has been pickled.

Thank god they didn't have tasers when I was sixteen.
